With 2024 now in the past, Prep Baseball Ohio is eagerly anticipating bringing the Buckeye state the best high school coverage that can be found anywhere in 2025. Starting in February, we began releasing team previews for squads across the state. Ahead, we will have Preseason All-State Teams as well as the Preseason State Rankings coming your way.

2025 Spring Team Preview: Buckeye Local Panthers

Team Name: Buckeye Local Panthers
Head Coach: Jeffery Patrick
Division: V
2024 Record: 7-18
2024 Tourney Finish: Sectional Finals loss to St. Clairsville
Returning Starters/Pitchers: 8/3

Coach Outlook: "We return 7 seniors with multiple years of varsity playing experience. Our season will be about minimizing mistakes which we began to do towards the stretch of the season last year. - Depth & Leadership."

2025 Team Strengths:

  • Leadership is our strongest trait returning 9 guys with a lot of varsity experience. 4, 4 year letterman and a handful of 3 year letter winners. 

Top Returning Players:

  • Kaleb Stang Wheeling University signee 4-5 54.1 IP, 2.86 ERA, 68 Ks, 30 BBs, 

Class of 2025 Prospects To Keep Eye On:

  • Alex McDiffitt (4 year starter varsity, 3 season starting at catcher)
  • Kaleb Stang (4 years of varsity pitching 3 years starting at 1st)
  • Wyatt Luyster (4 year varsity starter in the OF)
  • Mason Griffin (3 year starter in the OF, will move to center this season)
  • Dominic Kempton (2 years as a varsity reliever - transitioning to a starter this season)
  • Haydn Boyce Returning Starting Shortstop
  • Brady Kalman returning starting 2nd basemen

Class of 2026 Prospects To Keep Eye On:

  • Grant Dombroski (Will be a 3rd year lettermen starting on the mound as a freshman and sophomore.)

Class of 2027 Prospects To Keep Eye On:

  • Dugan Dobrovich - MIF/P
  • Daniel Divjak Utility/P
  • Jordan Kovalski IF/P
