Top OUA/OCAA Announced Recruits - Part 2

Report: Lugtenburg, a 5-foot-11, 160-pound outfielder is now a member of the Durham Lords as they make another impressive addition to a strong recruiting class. Lugtenburg is an athletic outfielder, who’s been up to 7.25 running the 60 in the past. He’s added strength to his frame and has room to continue to improve his physicality. He’s a left-handed hitter who works towards the baseball on plane and with some loft. His ability to get on plane and work through the zone with extension provides him with more room for error, allowing him to have success. There’s feel to hit and use of the whole field, with some pull-side power at times. Lugtenburg will be a very productive offensive hitter in college. In the outfield, he profiles in right-field where he’ll be a solid defender with impressive arm speed, generating throws up to 93. He’ll also pitch, and has sat in the low-80’s, however with refining; he’ll have a better chance of translating some velo to the mound. An exciting addition to a powerhouse club in the OCAA.
