CHARLESTON, SC: The 2025 Prep Baseball Carolina Summer Championships were held June 5th to June 8th in Charleston, South Carolina. This week marked a record for total teams at a Prep Baseball tournament in South Carolina, as 61 squads embarked upon the state-of-the-art Shipyard Park and its waterfront views to showcase some of the top talent across the southeast. Here are some players that stood out over the course of the week.

Briggs Lessmeister, 2028, OF/C, Clover
6-2 195-pounds, tall and physical for age with athleticism seeing time in the OF during the spring, right-handed hitter. Bend at the knees with a somewhat narrow stance with shoulders square to the mound, hands closer to body at shoulder level. Immense power at contact with the strong frame and above average bat speed that can really elevate the baseball in an upward path. Big time impact with easy pull side juice homering twice with a triple and four BBs on the week. High upside in the offensive profile and developing tools in the OF, a name to circle in the ‘28 class.

Noah Layton, 2027, OF, P27 Academy
Athletic and strong 6-0 163-pound frame that moves well in all facets, left-handed hitter. Stands upright and slightly open in the box with weight slightly preset on back hip, shoulders pre-loaded back before first move. Good athletic sink into back leg with a medium leg kick and hands stretch as he strides. Electric hand speed can catch any pitch location and picks his spots well. Still 15 y/o. A lot to like with budding tools.

Bryce Oliver, 2027, C/1B/RHP, Hartsville
Large and strong 6-2 230-pounds. Wide base in the box with a firm setup. Tilts down with shoulders with a toe tap load before hands stretch back in sync with stride. Aggressive stride and gets the barrel out quick with a short stride and strong bat speed. Big power present. Three doubles and five singles in five games.

Bolen Fields, 2026, 1B, Spartanburg
Uncommitted. Present strength in a 6-2 185-pound frame. Balanced setup with flex in knees and relaxed hands with barrel pointed upwards and a high back elbow. Good short and level path in the zone that shows rhythm and has a real willingness to use the opposite field. Inside-out approach that is tapping into some power as the frame adds on. More in tank. Three doubles, three singles, three walks on the week in 5 games.

Kitt Mclauchlin, 2026, RHP, Gilbert
Uncommitted. Long levered 6-3 185-pound frame with good present strength. H3Q slot with big time extension achieving a low release height that generates ride on FB. Pitch sat 86-87 and topped 88 with backspin and carry that will get misses in the zone. Sweep and some depth to SL at 77-78 and flashes a CH at 72-73. 5 IP with 6 Ks and 1 BB on 76 pitches.

Gavin Henderson, 2027, RHP/C, Boiling Springs
High-waisted 6-5 165-pounds with plenty of room to add on. Raw actions on the bump but shows athleticism and flashes quality lower half mobility. Whippy arm speed with a tough L3Q slot. Predominately used FB at 84-87 that has big arm side life and some bore at times generating swing and miss. Lots of room to continue adding on in size and 5 IP, 2 BB, 7 Ks on 67 pitches.

Chase Price, 2026, RHP, Lake View
Uncommited. 6-2 208-pounds. Some sneaky athleticism in the frame showing flexibility in delivery with a long arm path and ¾ slot. Shows mobility lower half and flashes arm speed. FB with natural cut at times sat 83-84 and saw most misses to glove side. Good offspeed stuff with harder SPL at 77-78 and CB at 72-73, each tunneling well with FB as he maintained his slot well.

Landry Ohmstead, 2026, C/OF, Crest (NC)
Uncommitted. 5-10 170-pounds, proportionate size with present strength and some athleticism, right-handed hitter. Upright and evenly balanced stance with slight flex in knees and slightly open setup. Strong sink into back leg begins load and hands stretch with stride. Good quick hands in the zone and can show off some power in the barrel to all fields. Solid athlete as well stretching for multiple triples over the week. Tools beginning to show.
