Pee Dee Regional Scout Day 2024: Trackman Pitching Leaders

On Saturday December 7th Prep Baseball of South Carolina was on hand at Florence Legion Stadium in Florence, SC for the Pee Dee Regional Scout Day. The event featured players from the 2025-2029 grad classes.
The day started with players running a laser timed 60 measuring the players 10/30/60 yard splits, then BP on the field with Trackman collecting ball flight data. Followed by pitchers throwing a controlled bullpen with Trackman collecting data analytics. And to finish the day all catchers, infielders, and outfielders went through defensive evaluations.

Effective velocity is taking into account the velocity of each pitch, its release distance, the pitches time to the plate / hitting area, and the pitches movement. With all of this information, Effective Velocity is allowing coaches and scouts to more accurately compare how a pitch is affecting a hitter.
