Prep Baseball Dakotas Rankings Insider: Class of 2025

Andy Judkins
State Director, Prep Baseball Dakotas

We wrap up our final rankings release for the class of 2025 in the Dakotas.

Since becoming its own Prep Baseball region, the 2025 class was the first to be ranked in North and South Dakota and the first to compete in the Dakota State Games. In many ways, this group set the foundation for expanded national opportunities for prospects in the region.

This class achieved plenty: Two players—Dial and Mongar—competed in the 2023 Prep Baseball Future Games, while Kokenge participated in the Upper Midwest Procase. Five of the top 20 players have committed to Division I programs, and the rankings feature several talented uncommitted prospects that college programs should be tracking this spring.

With one final high school season ahead, there are still milestones to reach and growth to be made. While their time in our ecosystem may be winding down, we’ll continue to follow their careers as they advance to the next level. Some may appear again through our JUCO Wire or Prep Baseball Draft HQ.

No matter where they land, this has been an exceptional class to watch develop.

1

Eli Kokenge

Harrisburg (SD)

RHP

The Minnesota commit made his most recent Prep Baseball showcase appearance at the 2025 Upper Midwest Procase in Febraury. With his high release point (an average of six-foot-three at release) Kokenge really gets on top of the fastball and tries to drive everything down in the zone. His slider has over 2,400 spin and 10 inches of horizontal movement. Overall an athletic mover with a lightning quick arm.

2 Aidan Zerr Brandon Valley (SD) RHP

Notre Dame commit.

3 Kaden Rylance Watertown (SD) RHP

South Dakota State commit.

4 Jackson Dial Rapid City Stevens (SD) RHP

Washington State commit.

5 Jacob Mongar Sioux Falls Roosevelt 3B/RHP
Grayson JC commit.
