TN Game Report: Tipton Rosemark @ USJ

On Tuesday, we traveled to USJ for their big doubleheader with Tipton-Rosemark. Was a solid day with temperatures hovering in the high 50’s to low 60’s w/ occasional wind. Read up on standouts below and check out the Twitter feed for video highlights!

TAYLOR HOWELL / C / 1B / USJ, TN / 20194-6, HR, BB Catcher showed some of the better offensive tools we have seen all spring, culminating in a no doubt grand slam home run to left center field. Tall, athletic frame w/ present strength, some physical projection. Imposing frame jumps out when you get to the field. Offensively, hits w/ an open, slightly crouched stance w/ short hand rhythm into stride to square and proper load. Generates premium bat speed through the zone w/ natural loft. Repeatable swing w/ balance, spin recognition. Zero swing and miss on 12 swings. Rare combination of contact and big power. Projectable power to all fields w/ present power up the middle to pull side. Explodes through the baseball. Defensively, present a big target to throw to. Can present a target for his pitchers, barely opens his glove as he moves. Strong forearms with ability to stick the baseball, beat it to a spot. Shows above average arm strength w/ some length in his release. |
