On Sunday September 2nd, Southwest Tennessee held their first inter-squad of the year. We were on hand to get a look at the returning players and the incoming freshman. Below are notes on select players (check out the Twitter feed for some video highlights!):

CHRIS SWANBERG / 1B / 3B / HARDING ACADEMY OF MEMPHIS, TN / 20171-3, 2B 6-1, 215-pound sophomore picked up a double in game while showing off the power in his left-handed swing. Medium, athletic frame w/ well-proportioned present strength, close to mature build. Offensively, hits w/ a slightly open, crouched stance w/ very short hand rhythm into short knee to knee leg kick and proper load. Generates bat speed through the zone. Pull oriented approach w/ ability to drive the baseball. Power first offensive player, has shown ability to drive the baseball to all fields last year. Defensively, profiles best as 1B w/ solid hands and footwork, developing arm strength. |
