QUICK HITS: POSITION PLAYERS

William Bobo OF / RHP / Shelbyville Central, TN / 2025Rankings StateRank: 81 / POS: 14
The uncommitted senior outfielder doubles as WR1 on the gridiron where he comes with twitchy movements that translate to the baseball field. Coming in at 5-11 and 170 pounds, Bobo has a frame that should be able to add substantial weight in the future without sacrificing speed where he is currently a 6.5-6.6 runner in the sixty. Also showcasing some pop in the profile with some low 90 mph EV’s. Standout defensively and top of the order hitter and will be a great get for a team in need of an injection of speed with the ability to hit.

Ben Kauffman 1B / C / Cannon County, TN / 2025Rankings StateRank: 77 / POS: 5
The Cannon County product comes in with a good build at 6 foot 2 and 226 pounds. Stays tight through the zone with a compact bat path that led to some high EV’s that culminated in a 98 EV with an average of 91 overall for his BP round. Raw power present but lacks some bat speed that he will need to work on with the strength profile. Solid receiver behind the dish with ability to steal strikes and command the zone for his pitcher.

Jack Dugan SS / 3B / Lipscomb Academy, TN / 2026Dugan comes in as a top-5 player in the state of Tennessee and second overall position player currently in the 2026 class of TN. Dugan is someone that we have watched relentlessly over the last two years, as he was varsity shortstop for Lipscomb Academy as a freshman. The Tennessee recruit continues to build his resume as one of the more intriguing prospects in the country. The body has continued to fill out and comes in with physical attributes at 6 foot 2 and 188 pounds. Not the quickest first step but does have really good speed in the 6.7 range with an incredible overall athletic profile. Dugan had the entire PAS group's best vertical jump with 29.50 inches, showing the bounciness and twitch available to him. The left-handed stick is something that separates him and will be something that MLB scouts take notice of as he continues to mature. The bat speed offers outlier metrics with an 81.6 average bat speed with a max of 84 mph. The grip strength is also extremely advanced with 182 pounds of force in the right hand (PAS event best) which leads to an overall bullish outlook for the middle infielder. 103 max EV shows the raw power in the barrel with an overall average EV of 95.5 that carries his furthest hit ball 380 feet. Dugan checks a lot of boxes with present off the chart tools and athleticism, while also playing a premium position with a quick triggering left-handed stick. Carries 90 mph from the outfield with above average actions defensively. Dugan should have a handful of MLB teams watching him closely over the next two years with overall tools and projection.

Kaden Powell OF / RHP / Beech , TN / 2026The number 8th ranked prospect in the 2026 class of Tennessee may have had one of the best entire performances at PAS. Doubling as QB1 on the gridiron, Powell comes in with a strong base of athletic ability in a unicorn frame that you don’t often see. Measuring in at 6 foot 5 and 260 pounds, Powell carries a lot of strength with present mobility in the profile. Clocking a 6.90 sixty at that weight is pretty surreal, but he carries it over to the plate, where he has projectable actions that will get a lot of MLB scouts attention in the coming years. The Kentucky recruit has a lot of tools to work with, albeit still raw in some areas, but leads to the overall intrigue. He hasn’t even started the journey of playing baseball year-round yet, as he misses all of July and fall-ball for football. The upside is obviously there where he projects from the left-side of the plate with the stick. Averaging with 76.6 bat speed with 21 G’s of rotational force led to some outlandish impacts of the barrel. Leading the entire group with a 106 mph EV on a 370 ft shot. Powell carries a line-drive approach in the bat path that will generate future loft without over-swinging for HR’s. Carried over a 96 mph avg EV with 92 mph from the outfield. Overall may have some of the best all-around tools with an athletic profile and you always bet on tools.

Gunner Skelton SS / RHP / Columbia Academy, TN / 2026The former Prep Baseball Tennessee Future Game alum is a gamer type of athlete. He doesn’t do anything completely out of the ordinary but is very consistent in his approach and production at that. Great glove with the ability to stay on the left side of the infield with 3rd base maybe being his calling card. Shows good feet off the bounce with a good first step and instincts with the glove. Not a burner but decent enough speed at 7.1. Skelton shows good strength in the profile with 166 pounds of pressure on the grip strength that would carry over to a robust 79 mph average bat speed, with plenty of low 80’s in there. Short to long in the barrel with an easy finish on his front side launched balls to both gaps coming away with 103 mph. Strong arm with 94 mph across the infield and you can start to paint the picture of the tools Skelton has. Showed pitchability on the mound as well up to 89 mph with the ability to go the distance in games with two separate off-speed pitches. Vanderbilt commit and someone the club is really excited about. Winner on the diamond in all facets, he is someone that will continue to only get better with his best ball in front of him.

Sean Birkofer OF / RHP / Providence Christian Academy, TN / 2026Rankings StateRank: 20 / POS: 6
Birkofer was someone that we may have missed out on this summer when selecting the Prep Baseball Tennessee Future Games roster. Birkofer comes in with present physicality in the frame at 6-foot and 209 pounds with present muscle in the lower half, trunk and shoulders. Athletic mover without being a burner (7.3 sixty) with strength in the profile. Generates easy bat speed that averaged out to 79.6 mph with multiple swings ticking into 80 mph. From the right side, Birkofer offers a simple and compact approach with a 10 degree attack angle with direct bat to contact, while flashing quick hands and routine gap-to-gap pop from a shorter swing. He possesses a shorter stride with simplicity to his operation, and allows the barrel to work cleanly through the zone on a mostly upward path. Possesses a quality mix of hit/power tools, and should continue to add to both in the not too distant future. He lived consistently on the barrel while producing frequent line drives to all parts of the field, and posted a top EV of 103 mph, while leading all PAS participants with an average EV of 96.8 mph. Defensively, he can play all three outfield spots with a corner spot at the next level looking more likely right now than sticking in the infield. Doesn’t necessarily have a position at the moment and may be the only knock on him. Multi-sport athlete with quality makeup where he doubles as QB1.

Kael Barney OF / 1B / Nolensville, TN / 2026Rankings StateRank: 23 / POS: 7
Half of the Barney twins, Kael was very instrumental in Nolensville making it all the way to the state championship a year ago. Long levers with a lean profile at 6 foot 4 and 188 pounds. There is still a lot of physical maturity for Kael with future power production in the profile. The Oregon State commit comes in with a strong LH swing that works through the baseball with easy launch mechanics. Moves well for his length with 7.1 sixty with present twitch in the profile as he doubles as a guard on his high school basketball team. Will need to continue to work on bat speed where it came in just shy of 70 mph on average but shows promise in the tools. Tied the group lead with 25 mph of peak hand speed during his swing per Blast Motion. Showed 97 mph max EV with not having his best overall BP round that we have seen from him. Profiles in the corner, whether that is at 1st base or the outfield, he shows balance and good feet with mobility to move laterally. Good arm strength in the mid 80’s. Far from reaching his full potential and someone that should step into the 2-4 hole for his high school team that has high aspirations for taking home the state title this season.

Rhett Persell SS / OF / Lincoln County, TN / 2026Rankings StateRank: 24 / POS: 4
Persell, an uncommitted junior UTL prospect continues to impress and rise up the rankings. We got a taste of the ability this fall where he showed plus barrel feel, launching balls all over University of Tennessee’s field with over 100 mph. PAS was no different, as he carried the same bat to ball skills in the cage with loud contact throughout his round. At 6 foot and 190 pounds, Persell comes in with an athletic look and profile that should be in line to hold substantial weight in the future, and good weight at that. Sneakily athletic with a quick first step, Persell would run a 7.1 sixty, while also showing the strength in the frame. 133 grip strength would carry that over with a 76 mph avg bat speed. The power potential is present with Persell where he carried 100 mph EV’s multiple times while averaging out over 90 mph for his total round with a 60% line drive percentage rate. He would also show 81 mph across the infield and shows the workings of being able to handle different positions around the diamond. Also comes in with upside on the mound where he has a long, loose arm from a lower ¾ slot that slings quickly producing 90 mph with late ASR. Shows pitchability with 3 pitches and command of the plate. High upside talent in the profile and someone that has gone under the radar, but will start getting a lot more attention as he goes into the spring and summer seasons.

Nick Riordan SS / RHP / Knoxville Central, TN / 2026Rankings StateRank: 25 / POS: 5
Riordan is another Prep Baseball Tennessee Future Games alum and continues his ascension. The Missouri State recruit has twitchy actions in a compact frame at 5-11, and 167 pounds. Good athlete with sub 7 sixty with more speed to come in the profile. Checks a lot of boxes and passes the eye test. May be one of the best defenders in the entire 2026 class of Tennessee with the ability to stay up the middle at the next level. Moves well with body control and agility, including a good first step with softness to the hands defensively. Juice in the barrel with mid to upper 90 mph EV’s. Present arm strength as well with 91 mph across the infield. Could push for immediate playing time at Missouri State as he maintains a strong line-drive approach that can handle higher velocity.

Tommy Baker OF / 2B / South Gibson, TN / 2026Rankings StateRank: 26 / POS: 8
Baker is a former Prep Baseball Tennessee Future Games alum is someone that we have followed closely over the last year since making his first appearance at the 2024 TNPAS. He had a phenomenal day at that event and carried that momentum over into the spring season where he belted 11 HR’s to go with being one of the best pure hitters in the state helping his HS team to the state tournament. Baker continues to fill out gaining over 15 pounds since last year and showed much more strength in the profile. The MTSU recruit offers a compact stroke with the ability to cover the plate. Doesn’t sell out to poolside and will generate hits to the opposite field going with the pitch. Shows a solid understanding of his barrel with impact barrels that maxed out at 96 mph from the left-side with an average EV of 88.5 mph. Shows glove presence in the infield with the ability to play multiple positions. Will be South Gibson’s 3-hole hitter again this year as he looks to improve off last season’s numbers.

![]() |
Cy Longley OF / OF / Ravenwood, TN / 2026Rankings StateRank: 47 / POS: 10
The Prep Baseball Tennessee Future Games alum had a strong showing at PAS. Longley is a good mover with present athletic ability. 6.80 sixty with the group 2nd best vertical jump at 29 inches. Has body control and agility on defense. The arm from the outfield could still refine as it is currently his worst tool (81mph) but does offer present upside in the box. At 5 foot 11 and just 166 pounds, Longley’s far from a finished product on the physical side but already displays some power projection with a 99 mph max EV and an overall EV of 91,5 mph. Was second of the overall group at PAS with an 85.78 Vizual Edge, so the ability to pick up pitches out of hand with an overall cognitive display to recognize tendencies is present with Longley. Will need to cut down on the swing and miss but does have overall upside and should get a lot of looks his way this spring/summer.

Jack Beck SS / 3B / Columbia Central, TN / 2026Rankings StateRank: 49 / POS: 11
Beck comes in at 6-foot-2, 215-pounds. Natural strength to the build with well developed shoulders and lower half. Shows the potential to add more in the future with advanced athleticism clocking a 6.88 sixty. Advanced right-handed hitter with quality hit/power tool combination. Offensively, the junior starts in a square, balanced stance and keeps weight sitting on the back-side throughout his swing. Showcases a short, simple stride for timing and gets down early. Looks to lift an impact the baseball gap-to-gap within his approach using his strength and quick barrel through the zone. Barrel works on a mostly upward path through contact with ability to back-spin the baseball and generate higher exits to the pull-side gap. Consistent two-handed finishes with ability to change planes with the barrel at times. Loud round of BP, peaking at 100.0 mph and averaging 88.4 mph. Has the athleticism to stay on the left-side of the infield with well above average arm strength at 90 mph. One to circle as he gets his first summer on the travel ball circuit for the Mad Mavericks.

Clayton Speck SS / 3B / Briarcrest Christian, TN / 2026Rankings StateRank: 49 / POS: 11
Speck gave us our first official look at the up and coming junior this past week at Preseason All-State. Speck put on one of the stronger performances of the weekend, showing massive tools on both sides of the ball. Working short to long with loose hands and solid bat speed, the uncommitted junior posted a solid 50% line-drive rate in his round while spraying balls across the yard. Speck finished the round with an average EV at 95.1 (max 103). Showed the developing strength in the arm during his infield drill at 84 mph with solid actions and smooth traits receiving. Top-5 in Vizual Edge score. A bit under the radar in the class, but a performance like this has quickly peeked the interest of many.

Drew Hostetler OF / RHP / Siegel, TN / 2026Rankings StateRank: 53 / POS: 11
Hostetler comes in extremely athletic showcasing both speed and agility defensively. Current RB1 on the gridiron, Hostetler brings physicality and toughness to the diamond in a compact frame that carries present strength. 6.65 speed with good reads in the outfield, while showcasing a quick first step. Above average range defensively with above average arm strength at 92 mph. 98 mph EV with short levers through the zone with displayed ability to handle pitches inside. Shows feel for the barrel with a 75% hard contact sweet spot percentage with easy sequencing of his load with his timing. Really strong follow as he shows the ability to handle centerfield at the next level, with present juice and contact ability in the bat.

Kyson Barney SS / 2B / Nolensville, TN / 2026Rankings StateRank: 56 / POS: 13
The other half of the Barney twins, Kyson is another prospect with a great frame that he is continuing to grow into where he stands 6 foot 4 and 177 pounds. 7.09 runner with a fluid run pattern. Shows some present juice in the barrel from the right-side. 95 mph max EV with sprayed balls up the middle and to pull-side. Easy leverage from the right side that should continue to generate more loft as he gets stronger. Shines on the basketball court where he plays point guard. Bouncy athlete with above average arm strength at 90 mph. Looks to take over starting shortstop duties this spring for Nolensville as they push to make it back to the state tournament. Bends well for the length, which should allow him to remain on the left side long-term.

Gavin Bergeron SS / 3B / Bearden, TN / 2026Rankings StateRank: 70 / POS: 16
The Beardan product comes in with a wiry frame at 6 foot 1 and 175 pounds. He comes in actually thicker than the last time we saw him this summer with added strength in the profile. Stays up the middle with a 6 degree attack angle with consistent hard contact in the upper 80’s mph, while maxing out at 92 mph. Produced a lot more groundballs than line-drives as he had a tendency to cut himself off at times but offers present upside. Solid defensive with a clean glove and moves well around the diamond. Long-term projection may be 2nd base as he moves well enough to stick in the middle (7.1 sixty) with present arm strength at 86 mph. Led the entire group with a 86.08 Vizual Edge, which equates to him seeing the ball well.

Allen is another athletic outfielder that shows out on the football field with twitchy and dynamic body control. Compact frame with a physical look at 6 foot and 175 pounds. Present strength in the frame that should continue to fill out with maturity. Wider base in the legs with a minor leg kick with backside leverage as he launches through the hitting zone. Present raw power in the barrel with 96 max EV. 6.7 sixty with a quick first step defensively. Line-drive heavy approach in the barrel with more power to come in the profile. Present bat speed that is still developing, good mover in the box.

Aydan Bradley SS / 2B / Davidson Academy, TN / 2026Rankings StateRank: 77 / POS: 18
The 6 foot prospect comes in with a thicker build at 180 pounds. Not sure if he has the speed to stick up the middle defensively with 7.4 sixty so will need to work on that, but does show a good first step with instincts in the infield. I do like the stick from the right-side that projects for more as he matures. Shows present barrel control with a smooth 1-handed finish through the zone. 95 mph max EV with a 90 mph average EV for his total round. Produced a lot of line-drives through contact with present above average arm strength (89 mph).

Griffin Hendrickson 3B / C / Nolensville, TN / 2026Rankings StateRank: 88 / POS: 6
Uncommitted. 6-foot-1, 207-pounds. Physical build with imposing presence. A quality uncommitted junior to follow, Hendrickson carries a strong presence into the right-hander's box and looks to drive the ball with authority using his pull-side approach. Hitting from a tall, slightly-open stance, the right-hander hits off a strong back side and utilizes a small leg lift for timing, triggering while creating some separation with the hands. Barrel gets on-plane early with solid bat speed (73.7 mph avg.) before working on an upward path through the zone. Shows the ability to impact the baseball at a really high level, while consistently hammering balls to the pull-side, the right-hander registered a top EV of 101 mph while averaging 92 mph throughout his round of BP. Will step into a starting role this spring for Nolensville HS.

Brody Waller 1B / LHP / Christian Academy of Knoxville, TN / 2026Rankings StateRank: 90 / POS: 5
We saw Waller this fall where he attended the Tennessee Fall ID and was a standout The left handed arm and right handed bat brings a very physical 6-foot-1, 210-pounds that has solid athleticism at his size and on the diamond. He had a very loud round during BP where he showed the ability to create natural loft within his swing. 96 mph max EV with an easy and repeatable upward bat path that generates quality backspin with an average EV of 91 mph, showing the barrel awareness on contact. We got a first glimpse at his very solid arm during infield where we have seen him up to 86 mph across the diamond from first base. Clean footwork and coordination around 1st base.

Short and simple approach with mostly an uphill bat path. 94 mph average for the total round and someone that really peaked our interest as we had not seen him that many times. Will be someone that we watch this spring for a hungry Houston Hs team that will replace a few starters.

Sam Davidson C / OF / St. George's, TN / 2026Rankings StateRank: 164 / POS: 23
The catching prospect shined at PAS where he flashed some intriguing tools at the plate that could be an asset for St. George’s this spring as they battle a brutal region. Loose, fast hands that showed some pop, while finding good quality of contact throughout a strong round of BP. Stays quiet pre-pitch while working short-to-long, creating leverage to the pull-side and impact in the barrel, Max EV 100 with 374 ft. The uncommitted backstop works out of the crouch well with good accuracy to 2B and flexibility in the lower half. Pop Time best 1.88 sec.

Alex Page II C / 3B / Dyersburg, TN / 2026Rankings StateRank: 154 / POS: 21

Up to over 190 pounds led to some stronger metrical performances hitting where he came away with a 98 mph EV with an 88 mph average for his round, with a lot of mishits too. Showed a solid swing working from the ground up that showed some feel for working through the baseball upon contact.
