North Texas Top Prospect Showcase: Quick Hits

COLLEYVILLE, T.X. - On July 21, our PBR Texas Staff hosted our North Texas Top Prospect Showcase to a much anticipated showcase and trials at Covenant Christian Academy. This event featured some of the states top prospects in the 2021-2023 classes from around the state. Today we take a look at a few players who made strong impressions during their workout in our Quick Hits Notebook. Plenty of uncommitted prospects to follow moving forward.

Adrian Najar RHP / SS / South Grand Prairie, TX / 2022Najar stood out throughout the workout. On the infield, he was 91 mph across with smooth actions. At the plate, he hit the ball from gap to gap with a max exit velocity of 97 mph. On the mound, he had the top velo of the day sitting 89-91 mph with good command of the fastball. Changeup was 81-85 mph with good depth and his curveball flashed sharp action at 71-72 mph. |

Griffin Binkley RHP / 3B / Mansfield Legacy, TX / 2021Binkley showed well on the mound sitting 84-87 mph with his fastball. He featured two breaking balls, a curveball at 74 mph and a slider at 73-75 mph. Both showed good movement to them. He also had a 72-73 mph changeup. |

Jakob Charles SS / RHP / Central High School, TX / 2022Charles showed well all around at the NTX Top Prospect Showcase. During BP, he had a max exit velocity of 90 mph with a clean swing from the left side. Defensively, he was 81 mph across the diamond with clean actions. On the mound, he was 81-85 mph with a 70-72 mph curveball and a 77 mph changeup. |

Fastest 60 of the day, as he ran a 6.68 60. During BP, he had a max exit velocity of 98 mph, consistently launching balls to the pull side and CF. |

Paxton Singleton 1B / OF / Kingwood , TX / 2022Singleton showed a big bat during BP. He had the highest max exit velocity of the day at 102 mph flashing raw power to the pull side. |

Daniel Calabrese SS / OF / Covenant Christian, TX / 2021Calabrese showed good athleticism and strength throughout the event. To begin, he ran a 6.79 60. During BP, he had a max exit velocity of 100 mph consistently making loud contact to the pull side. |

Garrett Graham 3B / C / Abilene Wylie, TX / 2022Graham showed well on the infield with good arm strength throwing 85 mph across the diamond. Offensively, he had a max exit velocity of 99 mph with a consistent round of BP. |

Jonas Ledesma C / RHP / Theodore Roosevelt , TX / 2022Really impressed behind the plate with good arm strength down at 74 mph. Clean quick exchanges recording pop times of 2.07-2.09. At the plate, had a strong round of BP recording a top exit velo of 93. |

Kain Sanchez C / 2B / Caldwell, TX / 2022A player that continues to show well each time we see him. Really moves well behind the plate with quick hands and clean exchanges recording a pop time of 1.90. Solid round of BP naturally worked the middle of the field, recorded a top exit velo of 87. Sanchez will be a player to watch as he continues to develop and mature. |
