Texas vs. California: Day 2 & 3 Position Players

Toby Bicknell
Texas Scouting Director

ARLINGTON, TX - Texas took the first two games of the series against California in the inaugural States Play Series, thanks in large part to the offensive efforts of the series MVP, Bobby Witt. Jr. The Oklahoma commit essentially locked up the award on Saturday, when Texas defeated California 9-1 in game two. Witt Jr. went 5-for-10 in the first two games, with two home runs, a triple, double, a handful of RBI, and a partridge in a pear tree. In three games that featured some of the top draft prospects from two talent rich states, Witt Jr. stood out head and shoulders among his peers.
