DBU Commit. 5-foot-10, 165-pound, high waisted, long-limbed frame. Worked a quick 1-2-3 inning, recorded 2 punchouts. The right hander works from a ¾ slot with a loose, quick arm stroke and an athletic delivery with regular effort and good hip turn down the mound. Fastball sat in the 84-87 range, topped out at 90 mph once, and mixed in a changeup that caught the last batter looking to end the inning. Athletic two-way player and right-handed hitting shortstop, Smitherman doubled to left field and stole third base.
