Texas Diamond Notes: Week 4

The Texas Diamond Notes will focus on highlighting some of the top performances across the state based on nominations from high school coaches. We will highlight positions players, pitchers and two-way players every Tuesday/Wednesday of the high school season that had impressive weeks during their team's games. Special thank you to the many high school coaches that sent in nominations this week.
DIAMOND NOTES
+ Jordy Robertson, UTL (White Oak, 2026):

+ Easton Burgess, P/OF/2B (Alvin, 2027):
Stat Line: 1 W, 7 IP, 3 H, CG Shutout over Pearland / 4-for-7, 1 2B, 3 RBI
+ Drew Emery, P (Stratford (Houston), 2026):
Stat Line: 7 IP, 0 H, 1 BB, 13 K
Notes: Complete game no hit shutout to open district play. Was also part of combined no-hitter in the first game of the season.

Notes: Hit a homer Tuesday, hit 2 homers Friday and threw a no-hitter.

Stat Line: 5 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 9 K No-Hitter vs. WF Legacy.
Season Stats: 23 IP, 11 H, 2 R, 4 BB, 22 K, .609 ERA .652 WHIP
+ AB Martin, 1B/DH (Arp, 2025):
Stat Line: 4-for-5, 4 RBI
+ Max Burris, 1B (Eagle Mountain, 2026):
Stat Line: 7-for-10, 1.400 SLG, 2 2B, 1 3B, 1 HR, 9 RBI, 4 R
Notes: Hit for the cycle on March 14 vs. Burkburnett, going 5-for-6 with 7 RBI. Drove in the go-ahead runs in the top of the 7th inning on March 11 at Burkburnett with a 2-RBI double.
Season Notes: Leads the program with 2 HR and 15 RBI over 13 games played.
+ Andru Rodriguez, P/SS (Del Valle, 2026):
Notes: Threw a one-hitter in Tuesday then on Friday stole two bases to score the winning run in the bottom of the 7th
Season Stats: 0.00 ERA in District-Play
+ Chris Gonzalez, 1B (Del Valle, 2026):
Notes: Batting .500 in district, started the rally on Tuesday and then had a walk-off single to win the game on Friday.
Season Stats: .422 AVG and .500 OBP
+ Tate Elliott, 3B/P (Midlothian, 2025):
Stat Line: 2 W, 4.2 IP, 1 ER, 10 K
Notes: Won both games against cross-town rival Midlothian Heritage to open District 15-5A Play.

Notes: Grand Slam vs Randle

+ Jordan Andrews, 1B (Liberty Hill, 2026):
Stat Line: 4-for-6, 5 RBI, 2 BB, 2 2B, 2 R
Notes: Was big in 2-game sweep to open district play. Also went 5 ⅓ innings in game one and got the win, allowing two runs on four hits, one walk, and striking out eight.

Notes: Set a School Record with 17 strikeouts in a single game.
Season Stats: 25 IP, 43 K, 1.12 ERA, .148 BAA.
+ Justin Ramirez, P (Banquete, 2025):
Notes: 3-1 Victory over Odem Owls at Whataburger Field with 15 strike outs, allowing only one hit over seven innings, allowing one run (unearned), and two walks.
Season Stats: 25 IP, 4 GP, 103 BF, 3-0, 12 H, 5 R, 2 ER, 8 BB, 47 K, 1 HBP, .560 ERA, .800 WHIP, 23 LOB, .128 BAA.

Notes: Saved a game against George West tossing 3 Strikeouts. Started a game against Rockport getting a no-decision on the mound throwing 5 innings, 26 Batters faced, 95 pitches, 3 hits, 5 runs, 0 earned runs, 1 walk, 4 strikeouts, 6 LOB.

+ Gage Gustafson, OF (Summer Creek, 2025):

+ Jobe Reed, P (Colleyville Heritage, 2026):

Notes: Pitched vs top ranked Grapevine HS. Jobe gave up 2 runs in the first and then scoreless into the 7th and was pulled because of pitch count. We eventually won the game in the bottom of the 9th inning on a walkoff 2B.
Season Stats: Stats include starts vs 2024 state champs Tomball (6A) and Grapevine (5A) … 21 IP, 2.67 ERA, 31 K, 5 BB.
