TX HS Committed Scout Blog: Week 1

Prep Baseball Texas Staff

The Texas Scout Blog is where you will be able to find all the notes and video from our boots-on-the-ground scouting team on the top players we see over the course of the spring season. This season, we will have separate scout blogs; one for uncommitted prospects, and one for committed prospects.

Below, you can read up on the committed standouts from week one of high school play…

WEEK 1

Bryce Krenek
Position:
LHP
School: Katy Taylor (2026)
Commitment: Texas
2024 Future Gamer

Bryce Krenek, a 2024 Future Gamer and Texas commit, got the start for Taylor High School and was sharp early in the outing. The left-handed pitcher worked with a fastball in the 88-90 mph range, topping out at 92 mph, and paired it with a solid curveball at 77-79 mph. Krenek struck out 4 through 2 innings and finished the day going 6 innings with 15 punchouts, showing the effectiveness of his fastball/curveball combo. His body continues to tighten up, and he has some deception in his delivery, doing a great job of hiding the ball. On top of his stuff, Krenek is an elite competitor, and despite the cold conditions, he continues to demonstrate that his velocity and command are trending upward.
