Black, who stands at 5-foot-11, 205 pounds, has impressed with his ability to hit for both average and power over the past several months. Coming off a junior season that saw him launch 14 home runs, Black has continued his torrid pace over the summer and fall, often with wood bats. A solid defender behind the dish, the St. John's recruit has shown consistent pop times in the 2.00 range with 79 mph arm strength out of the crouch.
