The tension was present throughout Game 1 between conference rivals (#6) College of Southern Nevada and Salt Lake Community College that featured low scoring battle lead both starting pitchers, Josh Swales (CSN) and Fynn Chester (SLCC). The offensive was lead by MLB Draft League's Damiano Palmegiani, two-way Trey Frahm and Cimarron-Memorial alumni, Zach Culver, each registering two hits on the day. Local product out of Foothill, Andrew Hauck, came in relief of Swales in the 7th to complete three more hitless innings to complete the no hit effort. CSN earned the 2-1 victory in the first of the four game split with the next three games guaranteed to be a dog fight between these two foes.
