NCTB Fall Classic: 2019 Players Spotlight

The second annual NCTB Fall Classic Powered by Prep Baseball Report California featured 16 teams with talented players in all four current grad classes in attendance. Today we roll out a list of 2019 grads who caught the eye of our scouting staff during the game action this past weekend in Stockton (CA).

Players are listed in no particular order. Please be sure to click on the player name for access to their full profile, including reports, stats, and video when applicable. All of these players are UNCOMMITTED.

2019 C Carson Stevens (Franklin HS) - NCTB Navy - Checks ALL the boxes for a strong defensive catcher to go with an offensive skill set that includes a disciplined plan and whole field approach.

2019 CF/SS Mason King (Turlock HS) - NCTB Scarlet - Versatile defender with impact level speed, an aggressive nature on the bases and surprising gap to gap pop. His tools translate to game play.

2019 OF Ronnie Belton (Alpha Charter School) - West Coast Premier - Tools and body type initially noticed at the workout, then put speed, arm, and ball tracking talents to use in game action. Toolsy!

2019 RHP Jackson Torsey (Foothill HS-Palo Cedro) - Chico Aces Navy - Strong build, particularly his lower half, FB up to 87/88 in two outings to go w/feel of a slider (76-80) usable to both sides of plate.

2019 RHP Jeff Bauser (Woodcreek HS) - West Coast Premier - Good build with intriguing athleticism (7.16 60) for a pitcher, loose arm 3/4 slot, FB 83-86, slurvy CB 69-73, CHG with late fade 75-76.

2019 MIF Brady Miguel (San Benito HS) - Dub Dynasty Black - Compactly built MIFwith a slashing left-handed swing that plays up the middle, plays well on the move, energetic player with a good arm.

2019 OF/LHP Chase Rossman (Foothill HS-Palo Cedro) - Chico Aces Navy - Big jump from Rossman, pounded ball from left side, butter smooth arm action, up to 87, lively CHG, workable CB. 

2019 LHP/OF Hunter Hanes (Pacific Grove HS) - Aldrete Baseball - Long lean 6-foot-3 athlete up to 85 on mound w/big CB. Ran 6.73 60-yard with 87 exit velocity. Pitcher? Outfielder? Time will tell.

2019 OF Griffith Fenn (Pleasant Valley HS) - NCTB Scarlet- Left-handed hitting outfielder routinely made hard pull-side barrel contact, plenty of bat speed, good and accurate arm, 4.44 down the line.

2019 MIF Carson Griffey (San Ramon Valley HS) - EJ Baseball Warriors - Offensive MIF led off one game by slamming first pitch off LF wall then later lined a hard single to LF. Runs well underway too.
