Our weekly Diamond Notes highlights notable players that were nominated by their coaches for the March 4th - 10th Northern California Player of the Week award. Though not selected as the Player of the Week, they earned this special recognition. Players are listed alphabetically.

2020 RF/ RHP - Kyle Bratset - Washington (Fremont) HS - The San Jose State commit went 1-3 with a BB with 5 RBI, including a Grand Slam. In the field he had 3 PO's in RF and also recorded 2 K in 1 IP

2019 RHP - Cole Chimenti - California HS - Chimenti  went CG 7 IP, 8 H, R, 3 K, and 0 BB during the 4-1 win against Liberty HS (Brentwood)

2020 LHP - Riley Cooper - Clovis North HS - The Arizona commit threw a 2-hitter with 10 K and 1 BB against Clovis East HS. At the plate he was 2-for-2 with 2 RBI

2019 RHP/SS - Bubba Gomez - Fremont Christian HS - Gomez threw 9 innings over two games last week and gave up no earned runs, allowing 3 H while recording 17 K. At the plate he had a HR and 3 RBI

2019 SS - Alex Gouveia - Manteca HS - Went 5-for-10 (3B, 2B, R, and 3 RBI) while in the field made 0 errors in 14 chances

2019 RHP -  Ethan Hurte - Turlock HS - University of Nevada signee pitched 8 innings during the week, with 8 K, 3 BB, and 0 ER, finishing 1-0. Against Clovis North he earned no-decision, leaving after reaching his early season pitch-count (0 ER, 3 H, 3 K), leaving the game with the scored tied 1-1. He then picked up the W against Buhach Colony as his team won 9-2, throwing 4 IP of no-hit ball, with 5 K

2019 SS - Chad Leonard - Whitney HS - Went 3-for-5 during two games (1B, 2B, HR, 4 RBI, 2 BB, SB). Leonard was instrumental in the teams 6-5 win vs Roseville HS as his 2-run HR in the 6th greatly helped turn a 5-0 deficit (in the 5th inning) into an extra inning win. He hit a one-out double in the 8th and later scored the winning run. His sac-fly drove in the run in the 1-0 W vs Sheldon HS

2022 RHP - Brenden Moore - Pacific Grove HS - In varsity action the freshman pitcher recorded 3 K during his one inning outting vs Aptos HS

2019 RHP/1B - Roman Rosales - Immanuel HS - During the a 4-0 win against Kerman HS he pitched 6 innings, allowing 1 H, 2 BB, 14 K, and 0 R to pick up the W. For the season the senior is hitting .429 with 7 RBI. On the mound he is 3-1 with a 0.72 ERA, with 37 K over 19.1 IP

2019 RHP/INF - Eli Wood - Vintage HS - Against Santa Rosa HS he went 2-for-5 with a double and 2 RBI. On the mound vs Clayton Valley he allowed no hits through the 5th inning with 6 K, BB, eventually yielding two hits to earn the win
