SoCal Player of the Week: Drew Dalquist

RHP Drew Dalquist of Redondo HS has been named the PBR California SoCal Player of the Week for his performance over two games last week.
The senior Arizona signee threw a complete game shutout Wednesday vs Palos Verdes, allowing only three hits while striking out nine. He was also 3-for-3 at the plate with a triple and a 2 run HR, his 4 th of the season. He also added a hit on Friday and scored the eventual winning run in a 2-1 Bay League win at Palos Verdes.
For the season Dalquist runs his record to 6-0 and has 71 Ks in 43 innings, along with a sub 1 era.
There is no player in the state of California with more draft helium right now than Dalquist. He burst on the scene early in the season touching some 92’s and has elevated that touching 95 MPH throughout the season. His overall athleticism, intelligence, and ability to repeat his delivery is uncanny for a pitcher that age. He’s gone from a guy on the fringe of the draft to the spotlight as demonstrated by the level of scouts in attendance at his outings.
For his efforts, Dalquist has been named the Prep Baseball Report SoCal Player of the Week for the week of April 8th - April 14th. Prep Baseball Report Salutes Drew’s hard work both on-and-off the field.
