Each week, the Prep Baseball California staff asks High School coaches from around the state to fill out our Player and Pitcher of the Week questionnaire. We select the awards with the input of these coaches, performances we witnessed and word of mouth. With all of the talent throughout Northern and Southern California, it can be difficult to just pinpoint one pitcher and positional player from NorCal and SoCal each week so our 'Diamond Notes' articles will serve the purpose of highlighting the top performances that were submitted by coaches.

WEEK 6 DIAMOND NOTES
+ Kekoa Delatori, RHP (Mira Costa, 2028)
Kekoa Delatori delivered a strong performance on the mound this past week, tossing three scoreless innings while allowing just one hit, striking out four, and issued no walks. To start 2025, Delatori has been a reliable arm for Mira Costa in his freshman year, posting a .292 ERA across 24 innings pitched with 20 strikeouts.
+ Christopher Bautista, RHP (Monte Vista Christian, 2027)
Bautista was electric on the mound against Pacific Grove, striking out 13 over 6 1/3 innings while allowing just one earned run and one walk. In one of the biggest moments of the game, he was able to pitch out of a bases-loaded jam and keep Monte Vista Christian in control and in a lead. So far this season, Bautista has been dominant, holding a perfect 3-0 record with 42 strikeouts, only 2 walks allowed, and has a 1.00 ERA over 21.2 innings pitched.
+ Logan Honikel, SS (El Modena, 2026)
Logan Honikel was a force at the plate this week, delivering a 4-5 performance against La Serna that included a double, three runs driven in, three runs scored, and two stolen bases. For the week, he went 5-8 with two doubles, four RBIs, and scored four runs for the Vanguards. On the season, Honikel is hitting .316 with five doubles, nine RBIs, ten runs scored, and has four stolen bases, proving to be a key offensive contributor for El Modena.
+ Jake Ourique, RHP (Gahr, 2026)
Ourique delivered a strong outing on Tuesday, striking out five over four innings while touching 91 mph with his FB against No. 1 Corona. The LMU commit has been a key presence on the mound this season, posting an impressive 1.15 ERA and continuing to showcase why he is a rising ‘26 arm for Gahr.
+ Colin Gallagher, LHP (Madison, 2026)
Gallagher was once again nearly untouchable on the mound this past week, throwing seven scoreless innings while allowing just one hit and one walk. He remains one of the few pitchers in San Diego with a perfect 0.00 ERA with over 20+ innings pitched this year, which is a huge reason why the Warhawks are 8-3 so far this season.
+ Rohan Ramos, RHP/1B (Garden Grove, 2025)
Rohan Ramos played a crucial role in two victories this week for Garden Grove, showcasing his talent on both the mound and at the plate. On Tuesday, he came in and secured the final six outs of an extra-inning game, striking out five. On Friday, he delivered a complete-game, striking out 10 while also scoring the game-winning run for the Argonauts. Across the week, he pitched nine innings with 15 strikeouts and earned two wins. Offensively, he went 2-6 with two RBIs and two runs scored.
+ Garrett Rodriguez, 2B (Cypress, 2025)
The Centurions leadoff hitter Garrett Rodriguez had a standout week at the plate, going 7-11 with three doubles and five walks. His ability to get on base and be the table setter for Cypress, proved to be a big help for them in the Boras Classic.
+ Paul Dominguez, 1B/RHP (Cypress, 2025)
Dominguez came through in the clutch, blasting a two-run homer against Bishop Amat to secure a 2-1 victory for Cypress. He also had a solo HR in the bottom of the seventh inning to tie the game and force extra innings against Carlsbad. He had a strong week at the plate, going 4-9 with two home runs and three RBIs for the Centurions.
+ Diego Gonzalez, SS (El Dorado, 2025)
Diego Gonzalez finished 7-15 at the plate to cap off a big week offensively for El Dorado. He hit two home runs, a triple, a double, and drove in seven RBIs. His offensive production continues to be a driving force for El Dorado, as he now leads the Golden Hawks with 13 RBIs on the season.
+ Dylan Minnatee, 1B, (Franklin, 2026)
The LSU commit reached base in 11 of his 13 plate appearances this past week and finished 7-9 with two doubles, two triples, five RBIs, and five runs scored. Now hitting .400 on the season, Minnatee also leads Franklin in multiple offensive categories, including RBIs, OBP, doubles, and hits.
+ Dylan Wood, RHP, (Franklin, 2025)
Dylan Wood tossed a one-hit performance against Laguna Creek on March 24th. He finished with a complete game, striking out 15 while allowing just one walk. He has been lights-out all season, now sitting at 4-0 with 44 strikeouts over 24.1 innings while surrendering only eight hits. In the start, 15 of his 21 outs came via the strikeout, with the remaining being primarily missed barrels and weak contact.
