The Uncommitted Spotlight Series continues as we have started the '24 CIF High School baseball season Prep Baseball California is now highlighting some of the top uncommitted class of '25 athletes. The players featured are pulled directly from our '25 Class Rankings. These JR year players are ones that college coaches and fans should be keeping their eyes on over the coming months.
We invite you to get to know them through the eyes of our Prep Baseball California staff of scouts and the data-backed numbers collected at our events with our partnered companies. TrackMan, Blast Motion, Swift Performance, and Visual Edge provide comparable data to project and evaluate players. All of these systems come together to give a clear picture at what colleges will get when a players steps onto their campus.
Today, we put the spotlight on a NorCal '25 INF Dario Freschi out of Vintage High School. With a strong compact frame at 5'9 185 lbs with good athletic ability Freschi profiles as a 3B/2B defender who has potential to stick at SS depending on how he develops athletically over the time before he gets to college. His LH bat is a solid with good batted ball data and swing metrics. Shows 95.7 MPH exit velocity at the top end while averaging 91.1 MPH with leverage in the swing path to drive the baseball through the gaps. There is quickness in the swing with 73.8 MPH bat speed, 21.6 G's of rot. acceleration and 21.4 hand speed. He stays balanced his swing with good feel for rhythm and timing to get to the launch position on time and ready to hit. Moves well at SS with good feet, solid hands and an accurate arm with comfort throwing from different arm slots. His arm strength presently will play better at 2B/3B where he should be a solid average defender, but if he can increase his arm strength and athletic ability there is a chance he can stick at SS going to the next level. Freschi's combination of solid hitting potential with some power from the LH side while being able to stick somewhere on the infield dirt should have his name on college recruiting boards for the '25 class.
College coaches and fans be sure to click on Freschi's profile to see full video and statistics.
