2025 Colorado Rising Stars Games: Quick Hits

On June 4th, the Prep Baseball Colorado staff hosted this year's Colorado Rising Stars Games at All-Star Park in Lakewood. This event featured ~50 prospects from the 2029-2030 classes and allowed our staff an opportunity to get an in-depth look at the players in attendance, and during gameplay. Today, we continue our post-event coverage with this 'Quick Hits' story.

Jake Richards SS / RHP / Arvada West, CO / 2029Richards immediately stood out during this event. During the showcase portion, his BP round saw a max exit velocity of 88 mph and his throwing velocity during the defensive evaluation was 84 mph from SS. Richards continued to impress during the live games, running the fastball up to 83.1 mph (2388 rpm). The slider was seen at 74 mph with a 2859 max spin rate. Richards is a top prospect in the 2029 class, he has the makings of a special arm in the future.

Quentin Costa OF / RHP / Mountain Vista, CO / 2029Costa was the big winner on the day as he presented extremely well in both the showcase and game. Costa comes in at 6'0" 160 lbs with plenty of athleticism and burst in his game. Costa's BP round was electric from the left-side and saw exit velocities up to 90 mph, the highest marks of the event. During the defense portion of the showcase Costa was seen at 87 mph from the OF, and ran a 7.27 60-yard dash time. Costa took the mound during gameplay and ran the fastball up to 83.3 mph. Costa is headed to Mountain Vista and is a top name to follow in this class.

Grayson Sauer 3B / RHP / Eaton, CO / 2029Sauer was another standout during the event. Sauer is a physical athlete at 6'3" 170 lbs. His BP round saw an exit velocity up to 88 mph with several well barreled balls. Sauer's fastball was up to 79 mph on the mound during gameplay. Sauer is headed to Eaton and has all the makings to be the next power RHP for the Reds.

Colby Davis SS / RHP / Legend High School, CO / 2029Davis showed plenty of twitch and athleticism during this event. Davis started his day by running a 7.14 60-yard dash time, the top number of the event. Davis showcased well from SS during the defensive portion as well thanks to his 72 mph throws across the diamond with overall feel. His BP round saw several hard hit line drives to the middle of the field. Davis took the mound during the game with a fastball was up to 78.3 mph. Davis has a quick arm and a good feel for the breaking ball, showing he can land it in any count.

Luke Brown 1B / RHP / Arvada West, CO / 2029Brown comes in at 5'11" 170 lbs with present strength and plenty of power in his game. Brown's BP round saw his exit velocity up to 87.4 mph, and he presented an 81 mph throwing velocity from the OF. Brown stood out on the mound during game play as his fastball was up to 81 mph and he constantly attacked hitters early in the count. Brown is headed to Arvada West and has potential to be a power RHP.

Kai Hall RHP / SS / N/A, CO / 2030Hall stood out during this event despite being one of the few 2030's at the event. Hall put together a good round of BP and saw his exit velocity up to 81 mph. Where Hall really stood out was on the mound as we saw him up to 80 mph during the games with the makings of a future top arm in the 2030 class.

Dylan Hoff SS / Fossil Ridge, CO / 2029Hoff is an athletic switch-hitter who showcased well during this event. Hoff ran a 7.26 60-yard dash time and was seen at 73 mph from SS during the defensive portion. Hoff's BP showed many linedrives from both sides of the plate. His at-bats during the game are where Hoff really made a name for himself, he tripled from the left side early in game play and later would smash a ball to deep CF off one of the top arms at the event. Hoff is headed to Fossil Ridge and will be a name to follow in the 2029 class.

Hayes Ressler SS / 2B / Cheyenne Mountain, CO / 2029Ressler showed his athleticism early in the event by running a 7.19 60-yard dash time. Ressler was 76 mph from the OF and 75 mph from SS during the defensive workout as well. His BP round produced plenty of hard contact thanks to exit velos up to 87.1 mph. Ressler carried that into the games and continued to produce hard hit ball in his plate appearances.

Cameron Wiley C / 3B / Mead, CO / 2029Wiley is a 6'1" athletic catcher headed to Mead High School. The left-handed swing on Wiley produced exit velocities up to 84.2 mph. Wiley stood out during the defensive evaluation from behind the plate with a 71 mph catcher throwing velocity and flashed a 1.91 pop time, both top of the event. Wiley receives the ball well and is a top catcher in the class of 2029.

Keegan Hull C / SS / Windsor, CO / 2029Hull is a MIF/C with plenty of fast twitch in his game. Hull showed well at both SS and from behind the plate. His pop time was 2.12 and he was 77 mph across the diamond at SS. Hull also made some standout plays at SS during the games. Hull has a short, compact swing that produced many line drives and was also seen with a fastball up to 76.1 mph on the mound.
