September 19, 2019
PBR Iowa strives to be the most comprehensive source of player information across the state. The Prep Baseball Report is the No. 1 resource for high school baseball in each state we cover through our variety of events, boots-on-the-ground scouting staff, daily coverage, and multimedia platforms. Our multimedia platforms and events work in tandem, ultimately creating the most powerful source of high school baseball promotion in each state. While other organizations take a national approach, our goal is to become the authoritative voice on the ground level of each state.

PBR: What schools have expressed interest in you?
VAN VELDHUIZEN: Iowa Western, Upper Iowa, Kirkwood, and Northwestern college is who I have talked to the most but I’ve had numerous other inquiries from in state Junior Colleges, NAIA and a couple D3 schools.
PBR: Have you taken any visits, or have any visits scheduled in the near future?
VAN VELDHUIZEN: Visited Upper Iowa last month, visiting Iowa Western and Kirkwood in the next week.
PBR: Are you looking for anything in particular in a school? (Example: high academics, certain academic program, local, etc.)
VAN VELDHUIZEN: I’m just looking for the right fit in several areas. They have to have my academic area, a campus I’m comfortable with, and a baseball environment that is positive, successful, and develops players for future opportunities.
PBR: What were some of your highlights during your junior year?
VAN VELDHUIZEN: For baseball it was giving up two hits and no runs with 8 Ks to a very good hitting Fairfield team through five innings late in the year and also batting just under .450 my last 3 weeks of the season.
In other sports I was able to win a State Championship with our basketball team! I also qualified for the State Golf Tournament for the second time and played pretty well there.
PBR: What are your goals for this year?
VAN VELDHUIZEN: Make it to state in baseball as a team is my main goal. Individually I would like to bat .400 and have an ERA of less than 1.5 and opponent ba less than .150.
PBR: Do you play any other sports?
VAN VELDHUIZEN: Golf, basketball, and football
PBR: What is your ACT and GPA?
VAN VELDHUIZEN: I have a 25 ACT score and a 3.983 GPA.
