With 2024 now in the past, Prep Baseball Ohio is eagerly anticipating bringing the Buckeye state the best high school coverage that can be found anywhere in 2025. Starting in February, we began releasing team previews for squads across the state. Ahead, we will have Preseason All-State Teams as well as the Preseason State Rankings coming your way.

2025 Spring Team Preview: Summit Country Day Silver Knights

Team Name: Summit Country Day Silver Knights
Head Coach: Andy Poli
Division: VI
2024 Record: 15-14
2024 Tourney Finish: District Semifinals loss to Carlisle
Returning Starters/Pitchers: Return 12 from a roster of 14 in 2024

Coach Outlook: "Returning all but 2 players from last season. Both seniors on the 2025 team have been 3 year starters. Bryce McNair (Kenyon commit) is a 3 year starting catcher and is one of the top catchers in the region. Keller Minton is a 3 year starter in the outfield that also is one of our pitchers. Jack Phillabaum is a returning junior who has started every game his first 2 seasons. Grayson Houchin is a returning junior coming off a first team all MVC season as a sophomore playing Ss and pitching."

2025 Team Strengths:

  • With another year of maturity the offense should be much improved. 

Top Returning Players:

  • Bryce McNair Sr is a 3 year returning catcher. .338 BA with 25 RBIs/2 HR/6 Dbls/
  • Kenyon College Commit
  • Grayson Houchin (Jr) is returning from a first team MVC Ss/Pitcher. He hit .354 with 23 RBIs/ 6 Triples and 5 dbls. 
  • Jack Phillabaum (Jr) is a 3 year starting OF/Pitcher. Emerged as our #1 pitcher last season posting a 4-4 record and. 2.05 ERA.
  • Keller Minton (JR) is a 3 year starting OF/Pitcher. He posted a 4-1 record with an ERA OF 3.75.

  • Jack Phillabaum
  • Grayson Houchin
  • Gavin Miller transfer from Badin
  • Rylan Gentry transfer from Mason

  • Colt Fry
