A ball to the face did not stop Zack Gross from a big week for Elmwood. Four stitches were required after getting hit in the face while batting on Monday, but a day later the senior was back on the field against Otsego and then pitched on Wednesday in a win over Leipsic. Gross did not allow an earned run in 6.2 innings with seven strikeouts to beat the 16th-ranked Division VII squad in Ohio.
