This past Wednesday, June 4th, the Prep Baseball California team hosted the Orange County Summer ID at Hart Park in Orange, Cal. This was an open event for high school classes (2026-29), and gave our staff an ample look at some of the development of some of the top talent in the area and introduced our staff to new names to know after their performances.
38 players made their way to Hart Park this past weekend and participated in a pro-style workout, gathering unrivaled access to data through our state-of-the-art tech partners, as well as in-depth scouting analysis from our Prep Baseball California staff.

Mason Park SS / 2B / Fullerton Union High, CA / 2027Park's profile continues to trend up after a strong showing during the SoCal Top Prospect Underclass in fall that carried into a strong spring on varsity at Fullerton Union and now with another strong performance at the OC Summer ID. The 5'9 167.3 lbs Park showed intriguing tools across the board from his 135.5 (RH Grip) and 149.6 (LH Grip) hand strength testing into a 7.22 60 yard dash with interesting actions on the INF during the defensive work. Park has clean footwork, soft hands while demonstrating present arm strength (86 MPH INF arm velo) showing carry and accuracy on his throws from all angles. During his batting practice Park showed his consistent feel for hard contact topping the event with an average exit velocity at 91.6 MPH with increasing impact in his profile with a peak exit velocity at 96.6 while reaching 360' max distance (slugged several HRs to straightaway LF during two rounds). His underlying batted ball data was strong across the board from a 62% hard hit rate, 75% sweet spot rate and 75% fly ball/line drive rate over two rounds of batting practice. Park is a strong follow in the 2027 class who flashes SS long term potential to go with up the middle defensive profile. |

Dylan Wood 3B / OF / Ruben S. Ayala, CA / 2026Wood showed a strong across the board profile throughout the entirety of the Orange County Summer ID. With a wiry present build that has broad shoulders and room to fill Wood checked in at 6' 164.9 at the event while posting a solid present run time with a 7.14 60 yard time. His actions on the INF during the defensive portion were quality moving with sound footwork, flashing quality hands that give him the long term potential to stick at 3B while showing solid present arm strength at 83 MPH while flashing carry and accuracy on throws to all angles. Wood's swing showed well across the board on Blast Motion metrics including the second highest max hand speed at 22.9 MPH while averaging 21 MPH and his feel to use those quick hands to deliver the barrel accurately was on display during his two rounds of batting practice. Wood shows a flatter line drive based stroke which delivered hard contact from gap to gap profiling as a high hit with doubles power type profile (94.8 MPH max exit velocity / 334' max distance / 50% hard hit and sweet spot rates). |

Blake Barberena SS / RHP / La Mirada High, CA / 2029The lone rising Fr. 2029 product in attendance Barberena put together an intriguing performance across the board at Hart Park. Barberena is solidly built at present checking in at 5'9 169.3 lbs. while posting a 7.14 60 yard dash time with the type of athleticism that profiles to stay on the INF dirt long term and shows up the middle type of actions. Barberena plays with bouncy athleticism on the INF moving laterally/downhill with confidence while playing one or two-handed on different angles. His arm is strong with carry on his throws peaking at 85 MPH across the diamond that gives long term SS potential vibes. The LH hitting Barberena takes an aggressive swing showing interesting present Blast Motion metrics including 72 MPH max bat speed and demonstrated a solid present feel to deliver the barrel accurately during batting practice. His swing has solid present leverage in the path to produce a 63% fly ball/line drive rate while reaching a peak exit velocity of 95.3 MPH and averaged 90.8 MPH over the course of his two rounds of batting practice with a 62% hard hit rate. With intriguing present tools at an early stage in his career Barberena is a name to keep close tabs on in the years to come across the Southern California baseball scene. |

Oliver Dauskurdas OF / RHP / Oaks Christian, CA / 2028One of the top ranked players from any class in attendance Dauskurdas was impressive in his initial Prep Baseball California appearance at the Central California Preseason All State before seeing time on the varsity level at Oaks Christian. The strongly built two-way checked in at 6'3 198.6 lbs for this event and flashed real present tools across the board as both a position player and righthanded pitcher. A strong athlete for his size Dauskurdas ran a 6.98 60 yard dash (third at the event) nearly reaching 20 MPH (19.9 MPH) for his max run speed with the type of athletic ability that provides defensive versatility. He showed solid present feel to his actions in the OF with an 80 MPH OF arm velocity that was accurate on his throws before stepping onto the INF to flash an interesting 3B potential profile with solid footwork, sound hands and 84 MPH INF arm velocity with carry and accuracy to his throws. Dauskurdas is a power profile hitter who uses an uphill swing to produce hard contact in the air with loft and carry to his batted ball profile that showed well during two rounds of batting practice (97.3 MPH max exit velocity / 89.2 MPH average exit velocity / 359' max distance / 55.9% fly ball rate / 55% hard hit rate). His position player profile is strong, but don't rule out a future for him on the mound with a clean repeatable delivery that stays online consistently down the mound with body control and solid present arm speed his bullpen session was one of the best on the night. Dauskurdas threw his FB at 83.2 MPH to 84.3 MPH consistently in the zone (100% in zone rate). Backing it up with a sweepy type SLD at 67.5 - 69.7 MPH that he flashed feel to land in the zone and a 76.6 - 77.9 MPH CHG he landed in the zone at a 66% clip with quality arm side movement to the pitch. |

Marcus Blanton OF / Norco High, CA / 2026The Inland Empire based Blanton came out to Orange County and put together quite an impressive showing with his overall tool set. Blanton checked in at 5'10 172.6 lbs. for the event showing grip strength over the average 120 lbs. for both hands during grip testing. An athletic OF profile his 87 MPH OF arm velocity was tops in attendance showing both carry and accuracy on his throws to third base and home plate during the OF defensive workout that gives him potential for CF/RF long term. Blanton's Blast Motion metrics were strong across the board including a top three hand speeds up to 22.8 MPH while averaging 21.1 MPH and one of the top rotational acceleration readings at 21.6 Gs of rotational acceleration in attendance. Blanton's ability to rotate at a high rate with quality hand speeds generating one of the top five max exit velocities in attendance (96.8 MPH) with a 57% hard hit rate while putting nearly 60% of his balls in play in the air (fly ball/line drive rate) with a gap to gap doubles and pull side power in his profile including a 351' pull side HR. An uncommitted Sr. OF with strong present tools Blanton is a high quality follow for the 2026 recruiting class. |

Emmett Kopp RHP / RHP / JSerra Catholic, CA / 2026Kopp is an imposing figure who catches your eye quickly when you see him checking in at 6'7 210.5 lbs. at the event he showed impressive strength in his grip with 140+ lbs. readings for both hands. His size and strength carried over to the quality of his pitch arsenal during his bullpen session. Working off his sinker as his predominant FB shape Kopp threw the pitch at 88.5-89.3 MPH with heavy life downhill and to his arm side that included a max of 16.3" of horizontal run while averaging 14" of horizontal run from a 6'4" release height and 6'3" of extension that would get on the hitter with deception from those two metrics. Kopp adds in an intriguing CHG as a secondary offering he throws at 78.5 - 81.5 MPH with similar arm side movement to the pitch shape while getting strong vertical depth off his FB through its tumbling action that he flashed the feel to throw strikes with. His final offering was an interesting CB that comes in at 76.1 - 78 MPH with spin rates above 2500 RPMs showing a 60% in zone rate in his session with two plane life to the pitch showing vertical depth with action to his glove side. Strongly built with a quality delivery that features body control and a clean arm action Kopp has a long term starters profile with interesting upside as he continues to develop and is a strong uncommitted name to know in the 2026 class. |
