Thursday April 17 Games  
De La Salle 4, No. 2 St. Laurence 0 
 De La Salle  scored three runs in the bottom of the first inning and RHP Ivan Guzman  (3-0) fired a six-hit shutout as the Meteors stunned St. Laurence (13-2;  2-1 Blue) in Bronzeville. De La Salle (6-4; 3-2 White) leadoffman Tom  Duddleston singled to center to leadoff the Meteor first inning and  would score on Joe Gozzi’s RBI single to center. Senior Glen Kubek would  single home the second run of the inning and De La Salle would add a  third run on a groundout. Kubek went deep for the Meteors to pick up an  insurance run in the sixth.
Lake Park 9, Naperville Central 7 
 Lake Park (4-5;  1-1) outslugged the Red Hawks in eight exciting innings in Naperville.  After Naperville Central (6-6; 1-1) scored three times in the bottom of  the seventh to send the game to extra innings, the Lancers went to work  in the top of the eighth. A Redhawk opened up the inning for LP. Senior  Ethan Schulz made NC pay for its mistake when he ripped an RBI single to  left to give the Lancers the lead. Junior Kenny Schutz added an  insurance run, his third RBI of the game, on a sac-fly. Lancer closer  sophomore Colin Fowich knocked down the Redhawks in order to nail down  the save for winning-pitcher Brandon Popp. Sophomore C Dom Fallico led  the Lancer attack with three hits and three RBI. 
Fremd 12, Hersey 11
 Fremd (7-4; 2-0 West)  outslugged Hersey in a wild one in Palatine. With two out and nobody on  base Viking senior Mack Rosman stepped into the box. Rosman hit the  first pitch, soaring over the left field fence for a Viking walk-off  win. Hersey had leads of 7-2 and 11-6 and the Vikings just kept coming  back. Fremd scored five times in the bottom of the sixth to tie the  affair at 11-11. Rosman finished 3-for-3 while senior Matthew Gura added  two singles and three RBI.
