X-FACTOR

RHP/INF Shea Glotzbach (2025; Missouri-St. Louis) will play a big role in Lemont’s pursuit of making it back to state in his senior season. In 2024, the 6-foot-3, 189-pound R/R prospect had a strong campaign on both sides of the ball. On the mound, he performed to a 3.50 ERA over 50 innings, punching out 48 batters during that span. Offensively, he swatted two homers while driving in 24, and will likely be batting in the heart of the lineup again in 2025, giving protection in the lineup to OF Jacob Parr (2025; Ohio State). If Glotzbach can have another big year as a two-way player, he could help lead Lemont back to Joliet for a second year in a row.

NEWCOMER TO WATCH

CIF Zane Schneider (2027) is a name to watch this spring who could break out during his first year on varsity. We saw the upside 6-foot-4, 184-pound right-handed hitter earlier this winter at the O’Hare Preseason ID; where he showed the ability to be on the barrel (91.9 mph max EV) with authority (265’ avg. distance). Schneider could earn a job at one of the corner spots for Lemont in 2025, and will be one to watch throughout the spring.

TEAM OUTLOOK

Head Coach Brian Storako and Lemont will enter 2025 with high expectations after going 31-10 a year ago, finishing second at State. They will bring back another very talented roster, with the majority of last year’s team back for this spring. There are pieces both on the mound and in the lineup to be excited about heading into this season.

OF/RHP Jacob Parr (2025; Ohio State) is one of the better left-handed bats in the state’s senior class and could even garner pro interest throughout the season. In 2024, Parr led the team in batting average (.415), RBI (35), triples (5), and tied for the team-lead in homers (3). Parr will also hop on the bump for Lemont this spring, after posting a 3.18 ERA over 22 innings, with 24 strikeouts a season ago. Look for Parr to have a big senior year before heading off to Ohio State next year.

OF/RHP Matt Devoy (2025; Missouri-St. Louis) is another two-way prospect who had a big 2024. A season ago, he batted .330 with 24 RBI and a homer - while also striking out 39 batters over 27 innings on the mound.

INF Brett Tucker (2026; uncommitted), LHP/1B Cannon Madej (2026; uncommitted), and INF Rocco Luciano (2025; Trinity Christian) also return on offense for Lemont this spring, after being big parts of the team that went to State in 2024.

INF Ethan Kelby (2026; uncommitted), OF Grady Garofalo (2026; uncommitted), and C Zach Corse (2025; Oakton CC) are more bats that could help round out the Lemont offense in 2025.

On the mound, an arm who could help lead the way alongside the previously mentioned Glotzbach is LHP Cannon Madej. Madej had a stellar 2024, recording a 1.93 ERA over 40 innings, with 44 strikeouts over that span.

Some other arms that will help eat innings for Lemont in 2025 are RHPs Donovan Moleski (2025; Carleton), Nick Reno (2025; uncommitted), Ethan Kelby, and LHPs Tyler Lebak (2025; uncommitted) and Sean Crane (2026; uncommitted).

BOTTOM LINE & DIRECTOR’S NOTE

After taking 2nd at State last summer, Lemont returns much of the roster that got them there, making them a sure-fire team to beat in Illinois’ 3A class. The one-two punch of Glotzbach and Madej could be lethal come playoff time, while bats like Parr, Glotzbach, Devoy, and Tucker could put up big numbers in 2025 to lead the offense. Behind their experienced and talented roster, Lemont looks like they could be a force again throughout the 2025 season.

"Coming off a 3A state appearance in 2024, Coach Storako arguably has a deeper, more talented squad looking to make it back to Joliet in 2025." Drew Locascio
