2025 Summer Rewind: Scout Day Player Data & Analytics

The summer of 2025 gave players across North Carolina valuable opportunities to advance their development through practices, workouts, events, games, and tournaments. While the schedule can be demanding, most players approach the summer with a plan—testing their skills, gaining exposure, and identifying areas for growth.

Prep Baseball scouts worked throughout the season to evaluate as many players as possible. Tournament play provided game-based assessments, while Prep Baseball events offered controlled environments to collect verified metrics, statistics, analytics, and video. This summer alone, more than 600 players from North Carolina were added to the rankings database, each earning a player grade based on measurable tools and performance.

The Summer Rewind series takes a closer look at those evaluations, highlighting standout performances from Prep Baseball events across the state. From Team Carolina IDs and Organizational Scout Days to high-profile settings like the NC/SC Border Battle, Top Prospect Games, and the Future Games, players had the chance to compete against elite talent in North Carolina and beyond.

In this edition, we focus on players from the Team Carolina Summer ID events. These players distinguished themselves with their performances, athleticism, and projection. Below are scout notes from the event, with links to player profiles for additional stats, details, and video.

TOP 60-YARD DASH

Traditionally, the 60-yard dash has been the in-event standard to help measure a player's speed tool. We implemented timing gates at the 10-yard split, to capture athletes’ quickness, explosiveness and reaction time. From there, we will calculate an athlete’s top-end speed in miles per hour. While the measurement still has its utility, the 10-yard split has started to become more and more applicable in determining the player's burst and reaction time in-game, whether that's in the outfield or on the basepaths.
