Each 'Prospect Pulse' article will cover different and timely topics from different classes as we look to bring you the best coverage within Canada on the amateur prospect within it.

PROSPECT PULSE - SOUTHPAWS TO SEE

Josh Mills LHP / Foothills Composite High School (HS) • AB, AB / 2027

Mills has long been considered the top left-handed arm in the class, and he showed why on several big stages during his sophomore campaign. Mills got the ball for Dawgs black in big games against some of the top teams in the country, and turned in a dominant performance against the eventual champions at the Canada Summer Games. The FB has been up to 87 in front of our staff with easy movements and low effort indicating more to come. The Houston recruit shows above average command for his age and features a quality split-finger that has shown to induce swing and miss against high-level hitters. Now a member of the Canadian Junior National team, keep a close eye on Mills over the next two seasons.

Thomas Hill LHP / St. Joe's Academy, AB / 2027

Hill is a 2027 grad who has been on our radar for some time now and asserted himself as one of the top left-handed arms to watch in the class during the 2025 season. The St Joes product put together multiple strong performances in front of our staff during his sophomore campaign including a dominant complete game shutout at the Langley Blaze Invitational in June. It’s a three pitch mix with a quality changeup that featured an average of 16.6 inches of arm side movement at the Sylvan Lake Classic. Hill’s fastball was up to 85.5 mph on Trackman this fall, and recent training videos have shown an uptick in velo, making him an arm that we are eager to see in the coming months.

Braxton Bussing LHP / St. Joseph High School, AB / 2026

Bussing stood out back at the Sylvan Lake Classic as one of the top uncommitted senior arms at the event. The left-hander sat 85-89 in his start, displaying strong pitchability and inducing plenty of whiffs through five scoreless. The St. Joe's product committed to Colby Community College earlier this offseason and will be a big piece for the Falcons and Gulls Prep Programs before heading off to school next fall.

Tavin Anderson LHP / Our Lady of Mount Pleasant School, AB / 2026

Anderson showed well last winter at the Alberta New Year Invite and put together a complete 2025 campaign that included time in the collegiate WCBL. The left-hander was into the mid 80’s this summer with feel for spin and room to add velo. Look for Anderson to trend up as he heads to Pratt CC this fall.

Kaleb Walker LHP / St. Joseph High School, AB / 2028

Walker was part of the Falcons contingent that made the trek down to Oregon this past fall for the Inaugural West Coast Super Sophomore Games. On the mound, he possesses a clean and compact arm swing with athletic movements down the slope. The fastball got up to 81.2 mph in Eugene with carry up in the zone indicated by an average IVB of 19.7 in. The secondary pitches are still developing shape-wise, however he has shown an ability to land all three pitches for strikes consistently. At 6-foot-3, 175-pounds, it's easy to see a jump in velocity not far down the line for Walker, making him an arm that we will be keeping close tabs on during the 2026 season.
