Peoria Preseason ID: Quick Hits

On Sunday, January 19th, Prep Baseball Report Arizona hosted the Peoria Preseason ID at Sunrise Mt High School in, Peoria AZ. The ID events are an open event held for prospects in the 2028-2025 classes in the state of Arizona, giving the players the chance to showcase their skills in front of the PBR Arizona Staff using state-of-the-art technology on field.

Carson Lockman 1B / RHP / Lake Havasu, AZ / 2026Carson Lockman, a 6-foot-5, 215-pound right-handed pitcher out of Lake Havasu, is an imposing presence on the mound with long levers and an over-the-top arm action. Lockman was a standout performer, showcasing command of a polished four-pitch mix that he consistently delivered for strikes. While his fastball sat at 83-85 mph during his bullpen session, his frame and mechanics suggest significant untapped velocity potential. With his projectable build, advanced feel for pitching, and the ability to keep hitters off balance, Lockman is shaping up to be a high-follow prospect heading into the spring season.

Zharius McAllister 1B / OF / American Leadership Academy - Gilbert North, AZ / 2027Zharius McAllister, a recent transfer to Campo Verde High School, is a 2027 graduate with a strong 5-foot-10 build and impressive offensive tools. McAllister made a statement at a Peoria Preseason ID, producing the highest exit velocity of the day at 96.9 mph. He features a flat to slightly uphill swing path, quick hands, and excellent bat speed, resulting in consistent hard contact to the pull side and middle of the field. With his advanced approach and ability to drive the ball with authority, McAllister is a rising young prospect to watch closely as he continues to develop at Campo Verde.

Beau Zacher SS / 2B / Verrado, AZ / 2027Beau Zacher, a 2027 middle infielder from Verrado High School, stands out with his 6-foot-1, 170-pound frame and impressive tools on both sides of the ball. At the plate, Zacher displayed consistent hard contact, driving the ball to the big part of the field with authority. His slightly uphill swing path generates natural loft, giving his hits extra carry and power potential. With his combination of physicality, advanced approach at the plate, and overall skill set, Zacher is a promising young prospect to follow as he continues to refine his game.

His combination of size, power potential, and left-handed swing makes him a standout among his peers. As Heid continues to refine his game and unlock his full potential, he has the tools to become one of the top follows in Arizona's 2027 class.

Connor Baker C / RHP / Boulder Creek, AZ / 2027Connor Baker, a 2027 catcher from Boulder Creek High School, showcased an impressive all-around game on Sunday, excelling both at the plate and behind the dish. Defensively, Baker displayed advanced catching skills, highlighted by a sub-2.0 pop time, demonstrating quick footwork and a strong, accurate arm. Offensively, he features a smooth right-handed swing that produced easy line drives to the big part of the field.
