VERO BEACH, FL—Thursday at the 2020 Florida Preseason Classic started with OF Zac Veen (Spruce Creek HS, FL) facing another arm capable of throwing in the mid 90s, as well as a potential pitching showdown.

In the first game, RHP Victor Mederos (Westminster Christian School, FL) took the hill and gave Veen everything he had. After sitting 93-95 against the leadoff hitter, Mederos threw four straight 97s to Veen. He then got him to ground out with an 89 mph changeup.
