Bradenton, FL - I headed down to Bradenton to check out the No. 1 team in the state in IMG Academy. A double header against two top 15 teams in the state and they didn’t disappoint. 

Game 1, IMG took on Canterbury and it wasn’t close. 2021 LHP Mason Albright (Virginia Tech) took the hill and continued to look sharp. The velo wasn’t as high as I’ve seen in the past, but he still sat 89-92 with a hard fading changeup. He would go all 5 innings for IMG, allowing 1 unearned run while striking out 5.

Walks were the story early for Canterbury as they plated 5 IMG runners early. In the 2nd, 2021 James Wood (Mississippi St.) launched a three-run homer high and deep to right giving IMG a 8-1 lead. 2023 Stone Russell (Florida) later doubled in two runs, and 2021 Tommy White (NC State) doubled in another giving IMG an 11-1 win in 5 innings.
