2025 High School Preview: Mountain Home Tigers

The 2025 Idaho High School baseball season is quickly approaching and, as usual, excitement is abound throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Idaho.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in their respective State Championship Tournament, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview these individual programs across Idaho. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews, bringing you in-depth looks at programs throughout the State heading into the 2025 season.

2025 TEAM OUTLOOK

Conference: Great Basin Conference
2024 Record: 13-12

+ No. Returning Positional Starters: 7
+ No. Returning Pitchers: 3

Mountain Home enters the 2025 season returning a large part of their core from last spring, including seven positional players and three arms who will look to lead the program deep into the year. The team is under the leadership of Shannon Wadas, along side one of the top arms in the state '25 Rodney (Tre) Morse III(Gonzaga Commit).

TOP RETURNING PLAYERS

The senior on the mound that made a large contribution as a junior last year returns to have the same effect this year. '25 Rodney (Tre) Morse III (Gonzaga Commit) posted a 0.16 era last year with 96 strikeouts, has been in the low 90's and looking progressively stronger and effiicient on the mound.

'25 Tyler Peterson RHP/INF (Uncommited) looks to be a strong part of the line up as last year he hit for a .447 average with 31 runs batted in, he looks to be a strong producer for the Tigers this spring at the plate. '26 Andrew Chapman OF/1B (Uncommitted)  the junior looks to be a contribute to the line up this year for the Tigers after a solid sophomore campaign he strives to have a strong junior year for his team.

Another junior '26 Easton Vivier OF (Uncommited) looks to drive in runs this spring, after hitting for .350 average as a sophomore last year with 22 runs batted in his contributions will be strong for the Tiger offense this spring, additionally roaming the outfield with a .961 fielding percentage he will collect outs and cover a lot of ground in the outfield this year. The young sophomore infielder that made 14 appearances last year as a freshman '27 Landon Keener INF (Uncommited) will show his presence for the Tigers this year both offensivley and defensively this spring.

'26 OF Rogan Douglass (Uncommitted) and '27 INF Diego Flores (Uncommitted) will be two other prospects to keep an eye in the Mountain Home program this spring.

TOP NEWCOMERS

Mountain Home has a top newcomer in '26 Ryan Luther INF  (Uncommitted). Luther appeared in 3 games last year defensively, but has shown great improvements in his game that have grabbed coaches attention, and show that he has promise to be a stroing contributer for the program this spring.
