The Prep Baseball Report Future Games is mostly made up of rising juniors, but some select sophomores get invited every year. After highlighting the 2016 position players and pitchers in previous Hotlists, we’re looking at some of the 2017s coming to next week’s event.

Caleb Balgaard, SS, Howell HS, MI
A 6-foot-2, 180 pound strong athletic build prospect. Has emerged as one of the best 2017 prospects in Michigan. Showed great ability to work through and around the baseball. Hands are soft with a quick transfers. Accuracy on throws will need to clean up, arm topped at 80 mph across the infield. His bat speed was 89 mph. Swing will take him to a higher level quickly. Showed power with no stride approach, gets great extension through the ball. Ran a 4.56 home to 1st.
