Each week during the high school season, we will be announcing the Mizuno Pitcher and Player of the Week for that particular week. Numerous players across the state continue to put up impressive numbers both as position players and pitchers on the mound. This year we will be selecting one Pitcher of the Week and one Player of the Week based on nominations from high school coaches across the state. Thanks to Mizuno for sponsoring both awards this season.

Let's take a look at the Mizuno Player and Pitcher of the Week for Week 5 of the 2025 spring season. 

 

MIZUNO PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Sawyer Bates LHP / 1B / Canton Academy, MS / 2025 The East Central CC recruit had an outstanding week for the Panthers picking up 9 hits in 12 at bats which included 4 home runs, a double, 7 runs scored, and 11 runs batted in.

 

MIZUNO PITCHER OF THE WEEK

Cannon Hensarling RHP / 3B / OCEAN SPRINGS HIGH SCHOOL, MS / 2025 Rankings  StateRank: 25 / POS: 7 The former Future Gamer and Nicholls State recuit had an exceptional start for the Greyhounds last week as he threw a no hitter with 8 punch outs versus Sumrall.
