2028 Overall Rankings Update
December 2, 2025
In what qualifies as a modest update following an impactful and revealing fall, the 2028 class continues to round into form with a host of talented prospects taking noticeable steps forward. The march toward the Prep Baseball Future Games in July has officially begun, and uniquely, this group enters the new year as a fully uncommitted class, giving college coaches ample reason to build out their follow lists with increasing urgency.
This fall offered no shortage of evaluation opportunities. From tightly run events and structured workouts to high-end tournament play, the country’s top underclassmen balanced weekday academic loads with weekend showings that routinely featured advanced tools and competitive grit. The depth of emerging talent suggests that more names will surface as the cycle unfolds, and this update merely scratches the surface of what the class is likely to become.
With offseason work now rolling, this winter becomes the first real proving ground where strength gets added, movement patterns get cleaned up, and ceilings start to come into focus. These next few months quietly shape the spring risers and the summer standouts, all while college recruiters sharpen their boards ahead of August 1. There is a real sense of momentum with this 2028 group, and the winter/preseason window is where that journey toward the Future Games truly begins including Preseason All-State and ID events. Expect expanded looks, new names to surface, and plenty of competitive shuffling as the class continues to define itself.
