MALVERN, PA—Continuing a swing through the Northeast, we saw the top three prospects in the state in RHP Jack Kochanowicz (Harriton HS, PA) on Thursday and OFs Chris Newell (Malvern Prep, PA) and Sammy Siani (Penn Charter School, PA) on Friday.

Newell and Siani matched up in a conference tilt Friday afternoon, with Malvern Prep cruising to an 11-2 win. Newell was a big part of the offensive outburst, going 4-for-5 with two RBIs, a run scored and stolen base. In his first at-bat, he went the other way for a single and then dropped down another bunt for a single, like he did Wednesday. This time he got down the line in 3.9 seconds. In his third at-bat, he had the bases loaded with two outs, but flew out to Siani in center field. He had the bases loaded again in his fourth at-bat and ripped a single to right field, scoring two. In his fifth and final at-bat, he got caught out front and blooped a single to center field.
