Each week during the high school season, we will be announcing the Mizuno Pitcher and Player of the Week for that particular week. Numerous players across the state continue to put up impressive numbers both as position players and pitchers on the mound. This year we will be selecting one Pitcher of the Week and one Player of the Week based on nominations from high school coaches across the state. Thanks to Mizuno for sponsoring both awards this season.

Let's take a look at the Mizuno Player and Pitcher of the Week for Week 2 of the 2025 spring season. 

 

MIZUNO PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Will Lenczynski MIF / West High School, TN / 2027 Lenczynski had an impressive week at the plate, showcasing his power and versatility. Over a three-game stretch, he blasted three home runs in three consecutive games and achieved the rare feat of hitting for the cycle in one of those contests. His hot bat helped him rack up 9 RBIs while also demonstrating his speed on the basepaths with 3 stolen bases.

 

MIZUNO PITCHER OF THE WEEK

Phinn Waters LHP / Briarcrest Christian, TN / 2026 Waters earned the win in dominant fashion against Oxford (AL), delivering a stellar performance on the mound. Over 5 innings of work, he allowed just two hits while racking up an impressive 14 strikeouts.
