DFW, TX - Some of the best baseball in the state was played in the Metroplex this past weekend. Although numerous players stood out, we started to group the top players we saw and it became evident that most of them were left-handed. So here you go, some of the top left-handers from last weekend with video. 

Will Johnston, LHP/OF, Keller HS, 2019
Texas A&M commit. At 6-foot-4, 195-pounds, Johnston looks the part with a high-waisted, lean-muscular, athletic frame. On the mound, he works from a high-¾ slot with a shorter arm swing and some effort down the mound. Flashes quality tilt on his fastball that he can locate down and in to right-handed hitters. He sat mostly 86-89 mph on my gun, and threw a 1/7 curveball at 73-75 mph, mixing in a 75-78 mph changeup. Very competitive outing against a quality Argyle club. Only needed 70 pitches to get through 5 innings, allowing 2 unearned runs on 4 hits, 1 walk, and 8 strikeouts. Exited the game with a 3-2 lead, but took the no decision. Johnston had several knocks in two games, including a home run to the left of centerfield (against Prosper). Very athletic two-way prospect for the Aggies next year.
