ROCKWALL, TX - Video and notes from the scrimmage game between Rockwall and Plano West. Included in this report is video and scout notes on 7 players, and 4 uncommitted arms.

Brooks Helmer, RHP/3B, Rockwall HS, 2018
Baylor commit. At 6-foot-4, 215-pounds, Helmer has a strong, muscular, projectable frame with tons of upside. The right-hander works from a high-¾ slot with an up tempo delivery, quick arm stroke and long stride down the mound. His fastball sat 87-90 mph for one inning of work. Threw two curveballs, one at 75, and another at 76. The pitch has short, late break with 11/5 shape. Threw one changeup at 77 mph. A two-way player and right-handed hitter, Helmer has raw bat speed with good barrel awareness. Squared up three balls, a deep fly ball to centerfield, a missile up the middle that nearly took the pitchers ankle off, and a rocket to left field that is at the end of this pitching video.
