Round Rock vs. Cedar Ridge

The #18 team in the Texas Power 25 rankings, Round Rock High School, battled Cedar Ridge, the reigning district champions, on Thursday night. After a 1-0 Cedar Ridge victory in game one of the series, Cedar Ridge and Round Rock started sloppily combining for 5 errors in the early goings of game two. Even with poor defensive play, each team was able to avoid giving up a big inning. After a quick Cedar Ridge run in the 1st, Round Rock scored combined a couple of extra-base hits together to grab the lead 2-1 and never lost it. Adding a run in the 3rd and another in the 5th served as plenty of run support for a Round Rock pitching staff that only allowed one run on the night. Round Rock wins it 4-1.
