ARGYLE, TX - Tuesday night began district play across Texas and we had an opportunity to go see two highly touted arms pitch in the same game. Taking the mound for Liberty Christian was 2018 RHP Dawson Barr, a TCU commit. While another TCU commit, 2020 LHP River Ridings started for Prestonwood.

TCU commit. The right-hander works from a ¾ slot. His fastball sat mostly 86-88 mph with arm side run, flashing an 89 in the first and 90 in the second. Throws a big breaking slurve with 10/4 shape and sweeping action at 71-75 mph. Mixed in two changeups at 79 mph. After working around a walk and a hit in the first inning, Barr settled in nicely, striking out 6 of the first 8 batters he faced. His second inning was really sharp. Earned the win with a final line of 4 IP, 3 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 10 K, 2 BB.
