Mizuno Pitcher & Hitter of the Week (Week 1)

Each week during the high school season, we will be announcing the Mizuno Pitcher and Player of the Week for that particular week. Numerous players across the state continue to put up impressive numbers both as position players and pitchers on the mound. This year we will be selecting one Pitcher of the Week and one Player of the Week based on nominations from high school coaches across the state.
Thank you to the many high school coaches that sent in nominations this week.
Let's take a look at the Mizuno Player and Pitcher of the Week for Week 1 (Feb 17-Feb 23).
MIZUNO PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Daxton Price OF / LHP / Mount Pleasant, TX / 2028Price earns Player of the Week honors in his first week of high school baseball. The freshman outfielder stood out at the plate, tallying 8 hits in 11 at-bats. Of the 8 hits, he had 2 doubles and a triple along with 4 free passes and no strikeouts. Proce has always performed well in events and gameplay prior so it is no surprise to see it translate to the high school season.

MIZUNO PITCHER OF THE WEEK

Evan Mihaly LHP / OF / Clear Lake, TX / 2026Mihaly is a LHP that creates tough AB's for hitters, regardless of LHH/RHH. From a low release height, he gets a lot of swing & miss at the top of the zone with the fastball. The uncommitted Jr. can help in a variety of roles at the next level. This past week, Mihaly pitched 8 innings and struck out 15 while walking only 1. He allowed no runs and earned a win. Impressive start to the season and plenty more to come.
