TX HS Uncommitted Scout Blog: Week 1

Prep Baseball Texas Staff

The Texas Scout Blog is where you will be able to find all the notes and video from our boots-on-the-ground scouting team on the top players we see over the course of the spring season. This season, we will have separate scout blogs; one for uncommitted prospects, and one for committed prospects.

Below, you can read up on the uncommitted standouts from week one of high school play…

WEEK 1

Drew Emery
Position:
RHP
School: Stratford (2026)
Commitment: Uncommitted

Drew Emery matched up with Bryce Krenek in a solid outing, using a three-pitch mix that included a fastball sitting 86-88 mph, a curveball at 70-71 mph, and a changeup at 79-80 mph. The uncommitted junior showed arm-side run on his fastball and flashed a couple of nice changeups that had good action. Emery battled through some command issues early in the game but really settled down in the third inning, showing the ability to make adjustments. With a lively arm and his velo expected to rise, Emery’s stock should continue to rise as the spring goes on.
