Draft League Spotlight: Kevin Dowdell

A two-way player at Calhoun CC who is committed to West Virginia University, Dowdell -- the No. 25 prospect in PBR’s JUCO rankings and a preseason JUCO All-American -- is a plus athlete with loud tools on both sides of the ball. The left-hander sits 91-94 mph and touches 96, with a slider and changeup that have continued to improve with experience. There’s juice in Dowdell’s left-handed bat, too, including raw power that could make him a middle-of-the-order hitter. Dowdell’s speed and graceful strides enable him to impact games on the bases as well as in center field, where he earns high marks for his range and closing speed.
