It has been a busy spring so far for our staff, as we have covered over 100 games, and I have scouted nearly 60 personally. It's been an extremely enjoyable spring across Maryland and Delaware as seniors are sharpening their skills before college, juniors are ready to tackle the recruiting process, and the underclassmen are making a name for themselves with their respective high school programs. Below, Ledger highlights players he personally saw between March 10th and March 28th, recapping scrimmages and the first week of the public school season. If a player has already been mentioned in a Game Scout blog, they will likely not be mentioned in this Scout blog. Click on each player's profile to see full metrics and video.

Uncommitted Players (Alphabetical)

Drew Bitterman OF / Winston Churchill, MD / 2028

The offensive duo of Drew Bitterman and Brayden Reiner has worked wonders for this Churchill team this spring, and to be completely honest, we didn't see this amount of production coming, but it's certainly not a surprise. Bitterman's offensive profile has been on display since our first look at him as an eighth grader, and he continues to improve on both sides of the ball. The video below is from a scrimmage against Damascus in early March, showing the ability to handle mid-80s velocity with a ground-ball single through the six hole. There's some sneaky power to the pullside that continues to surprise teams, and the addition of that to an above-average arm for the age (87 OF Velo) and an improving run tool makes him one to follow as the hit tool becomes more consistent against upper echelon arms across the county.

Season Stats (as of 4/26): .288 AVG, 2 HR, 11 RBI, 14 R

Christian Cabello RHP / Cape Henlopen, DE / 2028

One of my biggest standouts from the fall at the DCP Battlegrounds, and with another impressive look during the preseason circuit, Cabello was towards the top of the list in terms of arms to watch this spring, which had me catch him as early as possible in an out-of-state clash. It's a strong 6'2" frame with the ability to comfortably throw two pitches for strikes, a fastball that sits in the upper-80s with a wipeout slider that showed success when down and away to right-handed hitters for swing and miss. He also adopted a high-70s splitter over the winter, but didn't see one in this look. With it being a cooler day in early March, I'm excited to get back out there as we approach the playoffs to get a more in-depth look at the right-hander as he's rolled through the spring with multiple respectable outings, attacking hitters at over 60% strikes and pitching to contact.

Season Stats: 14.1 IP, 2.86 ERA, 6 ER, 6 BB, 12 K

Charlie Delobe RHP / Severna Park, MD / 2028

This was an early opportunity to see the 10th-ranked player in the MD/DE 2028 class after a standout performance at our preseason event, showing off the arm talent in an inner-county clash against Northeast-AA. Another guy who isn't specifically a strikeout pitcher, instead attacking the zone and letting the defense play behind him. Sometimes, however, he's in the zone a little too much at times and surrenders strings of hits that get him in trouble. Regardless, it was a strong look in extremely windy conditions at the three-pitch mix, working the fastball consistently in the upper-80s through three innings, grabbing a couple of 90s. The slider was a bit sporadic, but he made up for it with a reliable high-70s changeup that he implemented later in the outing to both sides of the plate with occasional feel. It's an athletic arm from a compact frame that can really get it done on both sides of the ball, impressing with the bat in later looks. Offensive video to come in a later Scout Blog.

Paxton Green 3B / Parkside, MD / 2028

My first look at Parkside this spring came back at the end of March in an out-of-conference tilt at Southern on a freezing Saturday morning, and the 28th-ranked player in the MD/DE class shined on both sides of the ball. From an offensive standpoint, it's a shorter swing with a ton of power upside, showing the ability to spray XBHs to all fields, hitting a backside triple and a single down the line in this matchup. On the pitching side, we've seen Green twice this spring. 3.1 IP, 0 ER, 1 BB, 5 K against Southern and a scoreless inning against Decatur, working a mid-80s fastball up to 86 with a bigger low-70s breaking ball. It's a simple stretch-only delivery with the ability to impact the game on both sides, making him one of the top two-ways in the sophomore class.

Ryan Lewis C / Parkside, MD / 2027

One of our favorite players to watch across the Bayside Conference and one of the top catchers in the class, he has always stood out to me for his defensive ability, and his offensive makeup has really matured. It's a pull-side heavy hit tool with more emphasis on contact than power, occasionally showing the ability to hit for XBHs, which included a double to deep center in this matchup. As he continues to add strength to the frame and the ability to hit to all fields becomes more present, this will be a spectacular addition for any college program looking for a defensive weapon (84 C Velo, 1.93-1.98 Pop) that'll hit for a high average.

Ayden Richardson 1B / St Mary's, MD / 2029

In a class full of impactful freshman that are making names for themselves at the varsity level, Richardson has seen more time on the field than most in the private school sector. In this matchup against SMCA, Richardson provided two productive ABs, hitting a 2 RBI single up the middle along with a sacrifice fly down the left field line. He's played mostly outfield this spring, but the frame suggests that he'll move back to first base. It's a left-handed swing that has shown the ability to play in-game, making this one to follow in the MIAA "B" as he adds strength to the frame to further advance his offensive makeup and his arm strength in the field.

Matthew Sowers RHP / Chesapeake-AA, MD / 2027

The top uncommitted arm in the class entered the spring looking to make a statement, and he has done so across multiple looks our staff has witnessed this spring and against high-level public school competition. The production started right away with six strikeouts over four innings, allowing only one hit. Control was a little sporadic in his first start, but as the season has progressed, he has cleaned those numbers up nicely, improving his feel for the zone. It's a fastball up to 93, consistently settling at 88-91 with a slider that continues to make jumps, as he feels much more comfortable with the pitch as his outings progress, mixing the changeup at the knees against lefties. This is personally my favorite arm in the class, as the easy velo from such a smooth, low effort delivery, and the lean 6'2" frame would not have me surprised if the righty is sitting 91-93 as we kick off the summer.

Season Stats (as of 4/26): 27.1 IP, 4-0, 1.79 ERA, 7 ER, 18 BB, 53 K

Jackson Stewart RHP / St. John's College, DC / 2028

Highlighting a sophomore arm over in the WCAC, Jackson Stewart was one of my favorite arms over the first few weeks of the spring before conference play got kicked off, turning in a dominant outing in relief against a high-powered Calvert Hall lineup. The right-hander struck out the side in his first inning of work, striking out four over two no-hit innings. The fastball worked in the mid-80s up to 87, with feel for a bigger curveball with 12/6 shape. The ability to land both pitches at will in any count was eye-opening and is just another arm in a long line of impactful arms that have come through the Cadets program under Mark Gibbs. Stewart is currently the 24th-ranked RHP in the Virginia/DC 2028 class, and the durable 6'2" frame suggests more velo in the tank.

Tristan Tynan LHP / Newark Charter, DE / 2028

This was another one that was a major standout during the preseason circuit, which forced me to get an extremely early look at the southpaw in a scrimmage against Tower Hill. The left-hander faced some control issues in colder conditions, but that is to be expected from an underclassman's arm making their first start of the season. Consistently sitting 82-84, he can grab the occasional 85 while mixing three pitches for strikes. Attacking hitters and limiting hard contact is what stands out to me, which he does time and time again. He's only gotten better as the spring has gone on, so expect him to cement himself as one of the top southpaws in the class as the velo continues to uptick as we transition into the summer.

Season Stats (as of 4/26): 15.1 IP, 4-0, 0.46 ERA, 1 ER, 4 BB, 19 K

Committed Players (Alphabetical)

Anthony Badillo SS / Archbishop Spalding, MD / 2027

Commitment: Virginia Tech (ACC)

The 2025 Future Games alum has shown off the hit tool in nearly every look our staff has seen this spring, but my favorite look came against PVI in mid-March, where he faced three straight low-90s arms. It's one of the better contact bats in the class, spraying line drives gap-to-gap with a middle approach, with the ability to show off some pullside juice as he's been racking up homers throughout conference play. The premium run tool, mixed with strong defensive actions at a multitude of positions, there's a reason why the ACC commit wasn't on the board for long.

Garrett Bohn RHP / Caravel Academy, DE / 2026

Commitment: East Stroudsburg (PSAC)

I've had the opportunity to see Garrett Bohn across two different matchups, and it's been extremely impressive both times. The velo has seen some uptick, now sitting 89-91 while holding low-90s through four or five innings. The breaking ball has been extremely sharp, mixing both pitches for strikes in any count with feel. As the outings become more consistent from a control perspective, expect Bohn to make waves to finish off the spring before heading to college. The lean 6'1" frame allows for even more strength to be added, making him a potential low to mid-90s arm headed into his freshman year at East Stroudsburg.

Alex Gannon RHP / Sanford, DE / 2026

Commitment: University of Ohio (MAC)

Alex Gannon continues to get better and better with each look, and with a top-ten matchup to kick off the spring, I made sure to get a look at the right-hander. Gannon allowed two runs over four innings, striking out six while working the fastball at 87-89 throughout. The fastball was slightly sporadic, but showed really nice feel for both of his breaking balls. The slider continues to steadily improve, more of a wipeout pitch when down and away from right-handers. The 2024 Future Gamer and 2025 Senior Future Gamer continue to serve as the identity of a Sanford team battling for a DIAA playoff spot.

Spencer Gaylor SS / Stephen Decatur, MD / 2026

Commitment: Virginia Wesleyan (ODAC)

In a year where Stephen Decatur lost a ton of talent and still remain undefeated on the season, Spencer Gaylor has provided an offensive surge that was much needed towards the top of the order. He has been off to a scorching start, notching two hits in our first look of the spring vs Queen Anne's, and later hitting a grand slam just a week later against rival James M. Bennett. Smooth, consistent actions at the dish will make him an impactful bat at the next level as he continues to add strength.

Sean Luxton RHP / Newark Charter School, DE / 2026

Commitment: Wilmington University (CACC)

This was our staff's first-ever look at the right-hander who comes off a fall commitment to Wilmington, and he brought the heat in chilly conditions to open the spring. Luxton sat 89-92 throughout his two innings of work, showing off a mid-70s breaking ball, but only needed the fastball to overpower hitters in the zone. With a pitching staff already one of the strongest in the state, Luxton provides the firepower out of the bullpen to be their mainstream closer in big matchups once Griffin or Tynan reach their respective pitch counts. When it comes to one of the biggest surprises of the spring, he may be near the top of the list.

Malcolm Blaqman SS / Southern MD Christian, MD / 2027

Commitment: Rutgers (Big 10)

The number three-ranked player in the 2027 class showed off the hit tool in a rainy Friday matchup against St. Mary's from the MIAA "B" Conference. It's a lower hand setup with an athletic makeup as the ball explodes off the bat, collecting a pair of doubles in this matchup, one into the right-center gap and his second down the right-field line, both off fastballs. The hit tool continues to translate better in-game, and his arm strength continues to not only make him an asset defensively, but also on the mound, as we'd get the chance to see him in that regard later in the spring.
