Over the next few weeks we we will be counting down the 2018 caldendar year with a look at the top 20 viewed profiles of 2018. After combing through our google analytics, we have compiled a list of the twenty most visited profiles, by you, the readers, in 2018.
In at No. 12 in our countdown is the No. 1 ranked 2021 in the state of Florida, the No. 5 Overall prospect in the country, Miami commit, RHP Irving Carter (Calvary Christian Academy). A physical specimen at 6-foot-3, 205-pounds, Carter is already running his fastball up to 92 mph and has shown feel for his secondary offerings. An exciting prospect who will be a high draft prospect in the 2021 MLB Draft.
Scouting Report
07/28/18- Miami recruit. Physical, athletic, durable frame standing at 6-foot-3, 205 pounds. Overpowered the three hitters he faced in his inning of work where he struck out two. Fastball sat 88-90 mph, touching 91 while mixing in an 85-86 mph cutter, 71 -72 mph curveball, and a 74-75 mph changeup. He has a powerful presence on the mound and overall a very advanced feel for pitching for his class. He repeats with present athleticism and real arm talent. High ceiling and one of the top pitchers in his class nationally.
3/24/17- started for the Warriors and after loading the bases to begin the game, settled in and struck out the side to escape the first. The Miami recruit showed flashes of what his future potential could be as he worked at 83-85 mph with his fastball, touching 86 and 88 once. He also featured a curveball that sat 70-72 mph and a change up at 75-76 mph. Carter exited after three innings with five strikeouts and allowed one run on three hits with three walks.
