Scout Blog
Niles Redrick, SS, Landmark Christian, 2026
Uncommitted. The Landmark Christian SS continues to impress with each look. Physical and athletic at 6-foot-0, 180-pounds, Redrick exudes twitch at the plate. Stays well-connected with great balance as he gets deep into his lower half and delivers a well-leveraged barrel through the zone. Quiet, strong hands stand out with present bat speed and impact in the barrel to match. Redrick was all over the barrel Sunday afternoon for the Cougs as he drove one deep into CF for the loud RBI triple. Offers high-level positional flexibility across the diamond as well. There is plenty of projection remaining throughout the frame/profile for Redrick with high-floor tools throughout and will be a good addition to any recruiting class at multiple levels.
Uncommitted. The barrel remains potent in each look for one of the top uncommitted power bats in the state still on the market. Loads of strength present throughout the physical 6-foot-2 frame and Patel exudes excellent body control with minimal wasted effort in the physical LH cut as game power shows up regularly. The LHH opened the weekend with a no-doubt homerun to the pullside (97 EV/ 388ft.). Patel stays extremely well-leveraged and balanced through the zone with advanced use of his lower half and accuracy in the barrel to match. Bullish on the power projection and ceiling for Patel as some projection still remains. Must know uncommitted name.
Reece Romans, OF, Jefferson, 2026
Uncommitted. Fresh off a standout performance back in August at Senior Games, Romans kept his impressive Fall campaign rolling across the Prep Baseball Cup. Lean and athletic at 6-foot-1, 175-pounds there is strength to project upon throughout for Romans. The RHH stays simple at the plate with real bat speed in a compact swing and excellent leverage through the zone that creates carry to the pull-side. The Jefferson OF would launch a pair of home-runs for Aquasox over the weekend and the stock only continues to grow for Romans with an abundance of high-floor tools littered throughout the profile.
Luke Young, C, Clinton, 2026
Uncommitted. Currently ranked No. 23 in South Carolina. 6-foot-2, 190-pound frame, evenly proportioned with room to add more strength throughout. Athletic right-handed swing that was on the barrel in our looks, fluid rhythm at the dish with loose hands, flat path with a whole field approach. Defensively stood out behind the plate, strong hands with quiet receiving actions, stole strikes routinely, strong arm to pair from the chute. Future Games alum, some present floor but his best days are still ahead.
Jeremy Powell, LHP, P27 Baseball Academy, 2026
Uncommitted. Powell was one of the more talented left-handed arms at the tournament. The 6 foot, 190lb stud was striking out everyone in his outing against the ATL Lightning including two Ks in the first inning with his CB which he spun really well all game. Powell is a promising left-handed pitcher with a projectable frame and impressive poise on the mound. His ability to mix his pitch selection, makes him an intriguing arm to follow the rest of fall and this upcoming high school season.
Ryland Perry, RHP, Buford, 2026
Uncommitted. 6-foot-4, 205-pound frame, durable frame with room to add more strength in the coming years. Athletic and clean mover, medium leg-lift into balance point with some pace, stays controlled and balanced into a tall/fall movement pattern down the mound, works in-line. Clean, longer arm path, high ¾ slot. Fastball jumped out of the hand at 85-88 mph and set up a slider in the 75-77 mph range, quality two-pitch mix with depth on the slider. More to project on both in the frame and in the movement patterns.
