Garner HS  3 Clayton HS  4

Garner and Clayton opened a 2 game series this week on Tuesday.  Both clubs are looking to keep pace with Corinth Holders, who is leading Garner by 1 game in the Greater Neuse River 4A.  This series will conclude on Thursday.

Clayton scored two runs in the bottom of the first inning on one hit. Garner tied the score at 2-2 in the top of the second inning. The game was tied 3-3 going into the bottom of the seventh and Clayton scored the winning run on a passed ball without having a hit in the inning. 

Clayton sophomore LHP, Karter Bossman, kept Garner HS off balance all night and racked up seven strikeouts. NC State commit, Jaxon Lucas, was tagged with the loss even though he only gave up two hits and had 12 strikeouts.
