#25 Sun Valley  12 Marvin Ridge  6

PBR is there as game 2 of a 3 game series was played at Marvin Ridge HS, featuring the Mavs of Marvin Ridge hosting #25 Sun Valley Spartans.  Sun Valley won game 1 on Tuesday and looked to take the series with a win on the road.

The story of the game was the depth of the Spartan lineup.  Eight different hitters had a hit, with 7 different players scoring runs.  The barrage of hits included 4 extra base hits, 3 of which were triples.  The Spartans are very athletic from top to bottom of their order and showed an ability to create runs in a variety of ways throughout the night.

On the bump, Carson Sanner got the Spartans off to a solid start, allowing the offense to build a 5-3 lead in his four innings of work.  Shortstop Jacob Budzik through 2 innings before Mason Tinsley closed the game out.  These three arms limited the Mavs to 7 hits but they did walk 6.

Down 5-1, the Mavs scored runs in the 4th, 5th and 6th innings.  Andrew Lim had 2 hits, 2 runs, and 2 RBIs, leading Marvin Ridge.  He hit a solo Homer to leadoff the 6th.

These clubs will meet on Friday at Sun Valley to conclude the three game series.  Sun Valley is now 9-1, 5-0 in the Southern Carolina 4A.  Marvin Ridge dropped to 6-5, 2-3 in league play.  Marvin Ridge was missing several key players from games 1 and 2 due to illness and they hope to have them back in the lineup soon.
